With a diminishing covering of snow and a thin layer of ice under the the pitch at training on thursday night the game on saturday looked like it would be on but it was never a certainty. The majority of the pitch was green by saturday apart from a patch in the middle and it was deemed fit to play. Peebles had already beaten the Colts earlier in the season and are in search of their highest ever league finish but the tyne boys werent going to make their trip as as worthwhile as they hoped.
Tynedale opened the scoring by the boot of Rory Dixon who slotted a penalty from just outside the 22. The Colts got there next points through Ben Ridley who crashed over from short range with Dixon adding the conversion. Peebles replied with there rangey lock bursting through tynes defence. They later kicked a penalty.
The second half was marked by some flair playing from Tynedales backs, Dixon added to his tally with two tries. The first a spectacular solo effort, retrieving his own kick and racing over the line. The second more link play with Guy Pike breaking the Peebles line offloading to Matt Chard who showed quick hands passing to Dixon who sprinted over.
James 'the fridge' Raine got man of the match for very strong running and creating an excellent platform for the backs.
