Preston Lodge 0 v Tynedale Colts 34

Tynedale Colts travelled to Preston Lodge on staurday, with a defeat to the hands of Hawick psa two weeks previously and last weeks other group stage game cancelled against Dumfermline the colts needed a win to keep there cup hopes alive.

With a complete squad of 22 travelling away for the first time in many away games Tynedale had great strength and depth. In the early stages of the game Preston Lodge looked a threat to the colts with a series of strong driving mauls. But wherever Tynedale got the ball on the pitch they looked as though they could score.

Tynedale opened the scoring, with quick hands along the line that found the terrier like prop forward Angus White who was lurking on the wing and raced over the line. Other prop Adam Telfer scored the colts second try barging over from a quick penalty. This was converted with ease by Ryan Potts.

Ben Archer scored the final try of the half, finding a gap and reaching for the line with his lanky arms, unfortunately he dislocated his shoulder in the process of scoring. Potts added the extras.

In the second half White who was on a high from his try earlier broke through the Preston Lodge defence he was on course for his second try before unselfishly offloading to captain Rich Ridley.

Another try was scored by the completely dedicated winger Doug Harding who thoroughly deserved crossing the whitewash for his first try this season. Shortly afterwards the colts scored again with the ball finding its way the James 'Grudge' Davidson who scored in the corner.

The game finished 33-0, with every player performing well and getting a run out. Dave Watchorn performed well winning valuable ball. Man of the match was Angus White.
