Tynedale 19 v Bedford Athletic 18(League)
(Half Time 14-5)
Tynedale struggled to overcome bottom placed Bedford Athletic in a dissappointing match at windswept Tynedale Park.
Playing with the strong wind in the first half Tynedale never really managed to get to grips with the visitors - mainly as a result of an amazingly bad display of tackling and a succession of penalty offences. Throughout the match Tynedale dominated the lineouts and repeatedly turned the Bedford scrum although the quality of ball from Tynedale's scrum was nothing to write home about. Considering Tyne's dominance of the set pieces the scoreline reflect Tyne's low key performance in other facets of the game.
Bedford started in lively fashion but it was Tyne who took the lead after 14 minutes when Ed Holmes broke through the middle of a ruck and timed his pass well to put in the supporting Ali Gray. Will Massey's conversion from under the sticks added the extra points.
Bedford always looked dangerous and Holmes got back to put in an excellent try saving tackle after the Bedford centre had broke through some fragile defence.
Tyne doubled their lead after 25 minutes when a well organised maul resulted in Ed Parker grounding the ball.
With a 14-0 lead Tyne's play was still brittle and Gavin Beasley had to defend desparately after the Bedford No 8 had somehow intercepted a pass from the base of Tynedale's scrum.
The consistently poor Tynedale tackling was however eventually exposed on the stroke of half time when several pitiful tackles allowed Bedford to score wide out.
The second period was 12 minutes old when Bedford scored after further poor defensive work and a penalty for the visitors after 20 minutes gave them a slender 15-14 lead.
Losing the lead did seem to give Tyne a lift and for the first time in the match they bagan to play with some purpose. After 28 minutes Ed Holmes forced his way over wide out after some strong forward play to regain the lead. Bedford kicked a penalty after 35 minutes to bring the score to 19-18 but Tynedale held out fairly comfortably in the dying minutes for the victory.

Darlington MP 18 v Tynedale 11(League)
(Half Time 8-3)
A dissappointing defeat for Tynedale against a Darlington Mowden Park side fighting for league survival. Tyne dominated the scrums but didn't show a cutting edge when it mattered and had a woeful day with kicks both out of hand and at goal.
DMP opened the scoring after only 5 minutes with a try down the blind side following a maul. The try was unconverted and the sides exchanged penalties giving Darlington MP an 8-3 interval lead.
The second half began with a Will Massey penalty and with the Tyne pack giving the Darlington MP scrum a real going over it seemed a Tyne victory was the only possible outcome.
Mistakes and poor decision making however cost the team dearly and it was Park who scored next when a poor Tyne kick gave Park the chance to counter and against some weak defensive work they capitalised to the full to score a converted try.
Tyne predictably scored a pushover try through Ed Holmes and with 15 mintes left it seemed as if the match was there for the taking. The only scorers however were Park who kicked a penalty in the last minute to secure their victory.

Tynedale 24 v Fylde 18(League)
(Half Time 5-15)
Tynedale recorded a much needed home victory over Fylde and in doing so inched back up the table into fourth position.
Tyne played into a cold strong wind in the first half and got off to a nightmare start when a defensive lapse from the kick off gave Fylde the try scoring opportunity on which they fully capitalised. The early opening lead was quickly extended with a successful penalty but Tynedale then got a grip on events and narrowed the margin after a strong run from Barry Hills resulted in a try to make the score 5-8.
Fylde quickly responded with a converted try of their own but Tynedale closed off the opening half in a positive mood and had several half chances to narrow the 5-15 gap.
Immediately after half time Ed Holmes crossed after good forward pressure and Will Massey's conversion brought the score to 12-15.
A typical aggressive Ben Duncan run gave Ali Gray the chance to cross under the posts - Massey converting to put Tyne into a 19-15 lead.
Fylde were not finished and converted a penalty before a fine Tynedale move involving half the team resulted in Rowan "The Duke" Brown scoring an unconverted try.
Tynedale had to hang on at times in the final 10 minutes as Fylde came back strongly but their defence held firm to secure a good vctory.
TEAM: R Neville, B Duncan, B Hills, J White, A Gray, W Massey, E Holmes, J Williams(D Jupp), A Charlton (E Parker), P Southern, P Scott, G Smith, A Robson, A Murray, R Brown Reps: K Dungait, E Parker, D Jupp, M Clark Scorers: Hills - try, Holmes - try, Gray - try, Brown - try, Massey - 2 convs
Kendal 17 v Tynedale 14(League)
(Half Time 7-0)
Tynedale slithered to another defeat in attrocious conditions at Kendal. Tyne effectively lost the match with their slow start in the opening half when with the advantage of the elements they failed to get to grips with the match at all and turned around 7-0 down with Kendal scoring a try after 18 minutes.
The second half didnt start any better with Kendal converting a penalty after only 2 minutes.
Tynedale then however got into the match and scored an excellent try through Ben Duncan who stormed in brilliantly from half way after Ali Gray and Sean Tomes had ran the ball out of defence.
A rolling maul however gave Kendal their second try after 64 minutes to make the scoreline 17-7. Another fine Duncan run resulted in his second try which was no more than Tyne deserved for their much better second half showing. Kendal's defence and attrocious conditions combined to keep Tynedale out in the closing 10 minutes as we sought a much needed victory.

Tynedale 19 v New Brighton 26(League)
(Half Time 9-12)
Tynedale served up another disappointing home performance in a match in which the hardened New Brighton pack generally had the upperhand.
Tyne took an early lead through two Will Massie penalties but New Brighton struck back with a converted try after their pack had out mauled the Tyne pack for not the last time in the match.
Tynedale had their chances but generally our play was not of a high standard and we kicked away too much possession with ill-fated kicking. The visitors went into the lead with a try in the corner and although Tyne hit back with a third penalty it was New Brighton who earned their half time advantage.
If the first half of this match was average then the majority of the second was decidedly poor with a multitude of stoppages for numerous reasons. The match was decided in the third quarter with the well organised New Brighton pack paving the way for two further tries as Tynedale struggled to make any impact whatsoever.
With the match lost it was only in the last few minutes that Tyne showed their potential with two late tries, through Matthew MaCloughlin and Peter Southern. Perhaps it showed what might have been with a little more self belief.
TEAM:W Massey, B Duncan, J White, B Hills, A Gray, G Beasley, K Dungait (M MaCloughlin), J Williams(B Milburn), E Parker (A Charlton), P Southern, P Scott, G Smith, M Clark(A Robson), A Murray, R Brown Reps: M MaCloughlin, A Charlton, B Milburn A Robson Scorers: Massey - 3 pens, MaCloughlin - try, Southern - try
Rugby Lions 16 v Tynedale 19(League)
(Half Time 10-14)
Tynedale made the long travel to Rugby and came away with a much needed confidence-boosting vistory.
Playing against a strong wind in the first half Tyne took an early lead when Will Massey scored a fine individual try which he converted himself. The lead didn't last long - a defensive error allowing Rugby to score the equalising converted try.
Tynedale were playing adventourously into the wind and missed two penalty attempts before Rugby kicked a penalty to slip into the lead. With Will Massey sin-binned Tynedale then scored through Ben Duncan after some fine threequarter play - Andrew Murray converting from the touchline.
Rugby regained the initiative at the start of the second half and were rewarded with two converted penalties. Tyne had a couple of try scoring opportunities before Mathew MacLoughlin scored in the corner to give Tyne the narrow lead.
Tynedale then had to hold out for the last 10 minutes as the big Rugby pack attempted to break through but the Tyne defence held out for a deserved victory.

Fylde 26 v Tynedale 0 (League)
(Half Time 21-0)
Tynedale's depleted side lost their third successive match in attrocious conditions at Fylde.
The elements were not kind to Tynedale who had to play into typhoon conditions in the first half whilst the ferocity of the weather eased somewhat after half time. Nevertheless Tyne didn't play well, making too many mistakes in the first half and failing to break through a strong Fylde defence in the second.

Tynedale 15 v Blaydon 26 (League)
(Half Time 8-16)
Tynedale lost their second consecutive derby when they were outpowered by a confident, in-form Blaydon side.
Despite taking an early lead with an excellent Ali Gray try after only 2 minutes it was generally Blaydon who looked the more likely winners. For the second week running things just didnt go Tyne's way and the normally reliable Will Massey missed the early conversion and a penalty shortly afterwards which may have given Tyne a confidence boosting start.
After 30 minutes Blaydon were ahead 9-5 after three well struck penalties and then scored a killer converted try following some poor play in Tyne's defensive ranks. Massie's late first half penalty made it 8-16 at the interval.
It was effectively game over after 2 minutes in the second period when Blaydon scored their second converted try. Jonnie Williams did score a fine try for Tynedale which Massie converted but further Tynedale scoring opportunities were limited and Blaydon were the only other scorers with a late penalty.

Darlington 38v Tynedale 19 (League)
(Half Time 12-13)
Tynedale had a bad day and paid the penalty with a determined, highly motivated Darlington side cruising to victory. Too many Tyne players had 'off' days and Tynedale'd "day of woe" was compounded by what could be long term injuries to Jason Wright, Phil Belgain and Stuart Johnson - in fact with Rowan Brown and Jonnie Williams also suffering injuries Tyne played out the last 10 minutes with only 14 players.
Tynedale got off to a great start with two tries in the opening 10 minutes - Darlington clawed their way back to lead 13-12 at half time but Darlington killed off Tynedale with two tries in the first 10 minutes of the second period and from that point Tynedale disintegrated.
Hopefully Tynedale can learn from what was at times an embarassing performance and use it as a spur for the remainder of the season.

Tynedale 24 v Dudley Kingswinford 22(League)
(Half Time 14-14)
Tynedale played their "Get out of Jail Card" to record what had looked like a most unlikely victory with the home side trailing by 8 points with 4 minutes of stoppage time having been played. A Barry Hills converted try followed by a penalty conversion from Will Massey with the last kick of the match turned fortunes around to leave Dudley players on their knees in disbelief and dissappointment.
The visitors opened the match strongly and Tynedale never touched the ball in the opening 5 minutes as Dudley recycled with confidence. A five metre scrum resulted in a converted try for Dudley which their bright opening had thoroughly deserved.
The score inspired Tyne who proceeded to dominate the next 15 minutes but despite playing almost entirely in the Dudley 22 and opting for several 5 metre lineouts from penalties, Tyne failed to break through a resolute Dudley defence. As play evened out it was Dudley who doubled their lead when they capitalised on loose back play and weak tackling to score their second try with 34 minutes gone.
Tynedale realised the importance of getting on the scoreboard before half time and after yet another 5 metre line out Barry Hills broke through the visitors defence to score, Will Massey converting. Tynedale were now going well and levelled the scores on the stroke of half time when Ali Gray shot over following a five metre scrum.
The majority of the 2nd half was scrappy as play seemed to be concentrated around half way with both sides failing to control possession. Dudley did however ease back into the lead on 16 minutes when they converted the first penalty attempt of the match. With 15 minutes to go Dudley then scored what seemed to be a clinching try when good handling coupled with poor tackling resulted in a try wide out, the conversion being missed.
Tynedale continued to work hard and were rewarded with what seemed a consolation score in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Hills scored his second try, Massey converting well despite slipping at contact.
With 3 minutes of stoppage time remaining Tyne sensed a major turnaround and sure enough Tyne's last attack resulted in a penalty award as Dudley once again spreadeagled themselves all over the tackled player. Will Massey stepped up to take the kick which at two metres inside the 10 metre line was right on his outer limits. 'Cometh the hour cometh the man' and the ball was hit truly for the winning three points with no time left for Dudley to restart.
TEAM:W Massey, R Dobie, J White, B Hills, A Gray, G Beasley, K Dungait(M MaCloughlin), P Southern, E Parker(A Charlton), D Herdman, M Clark(J Wright), G Smith, R Brown, A Murray, S Lumley Reps: M McLoughlin, A Charlton, B Milburn, J Wright Scorers: Hills - 2 tries, Gray - try, Massie - 3 conv,pen
Halifax 20 v Tynedale 7(League)
(Half Time 12-7)
Playing their first match for a month Tynedale gave a brave performance against unbeaten Halifax but in the end had to settle for second best. Again several late changes unsettled the Tynedale line up but the replacements can generally be well pleased with their performances with Stephen Lumley gaining the Coach's "Man of the Match" award.
On a heavy pitch Halifax had the initial advantage and capitalised with a converted try after only 7 minutes play. Tyne had one or two half chances but after some weak handling from Tynedale the home side claimed their second try with only 15 minutes played.
Tynedale's response was immediate with Barry Hills chipping over the Halifax defence and winning the 40 metre dash to score under the posts. At this stage things were looking promising in what was now an even contest.
Halifax converted a penalty early in the second period and although Tynedale had plenty of possession they failed to breach a solid Halifax defence with Halifax scoring their third try 10 minutes from time to seal a deserved victory.

Bedford Athletic 23 v Tynedale 34(League)
(Half Time 11-28)
Tynedale won a difficult away match at Bedford, effectively blowing away Bedford's hopes in the opening half hour.
Ben Duncan opened the scoring after a typical barnstorming run with the game only a few minutes old, Will massey conveting. Bedford quickly hit back with a penalty but Alistair Gray then scored another fine try, Massey converting.
Good build up work by the forwards gave Gray a chance to score his second try and Johnny Williams scored Tyne's fourth try making the scoreline 28-3 with only 30 minutes played.
Bedford's giant forwards then began to impose themselves and Bedford scored 5 minutes prior to half time and then kicked a penalty to make the half time score 28-11 to Tynedale.
Things began to look ominous for Tynedale at the start of the second period as Bedford quickly scored their second try which was converted to make the score 28-18. Tyne then steadied the ship but squandered several chances to secure their lead and when Bedford scored their third try with ten minutes remaining a turn around looked on the cards.
Tynedale however finished strongly and Massey kicked two penalties to ensure a more comfortable scoreline.

Tynedale 18 v Cleckheaton 17(League)
(Half Time 7-12)
Tynedale started brightly against Cleckheaton, moving the ball around in fine fashion, but the bright 5 minute opening was unfortunately not a taste of things to come as Cleckheaton began to gain territorial advantage.
On Cleckheaton's first real attack after 8 minutes the Tynedale defence disintehrated against the visitors' driving maul allowing the opening try which was converted.
Tynedale did have the opportunity to get back in the match but missed with a difficult penalty. Tynedale's play became frantic and the passing became ragged and it was the visitors who scored again after a good run by veteran John Bentley coupled with some weak home defensive work resulted in Cleckheaton's second try after 34 minutes.
This did act as a wake up call to Tyne and they took play up into the visitors 22 and after several strong attacks some neat play gave Al Gray the chance to shoot over for Tyne's first score right on the stroke of half time.
The second period started well and Will Massey scored a brilliant try in the opening minute, picking a pass up off his bootlaces and jinking over for the try which levelled the scores.
Three minutes later Massey converted a penalty to put Tyne in the lead for the first time and he kicked another shortly afterwards to extend the lead further. Tynedale were now generally on top, particularly in the set pieces, but our attacks frequently broke down as a result of our own bad judgements.
Although Tyne had looked comfortable for most of the second period it was Cleckheaton who capitalised on Tyne's mistakes and ill-discipline in the last 5 minutes to pressurise the home defence. Nerves jangled after Cleckheaton scored a try after 37 minutes but the attempted conversion never threatened.
Tyne hung on in the last few minutes for what was a nervous victory.

Macclesfield 22 v Tynedale 20(League)
(Half Time 6-13)
A patched up Tynedale side battled well to lose narrowly against high fliers Macclesfield and could indeed have snatched victory in the dying minutes.
Without several key players Tynedale started brightly before a crucial mistake was punished to the full by Macclesfield after 18 minutes. Tyne responded and Will Massey kicked a 45metre penalty on 25 minutes but this was quickly cancelled out by a home penalty.
Shortly before the interval Massey kicked his second penalty to narrow the gap but again Macclesfield responded with a fine drop goal right on the stroke of half time. At this stageTyne's cause was not helped by the loss of influential flanker Rowan Brown with an ankle injury.
Things looked ominous when Macclesfield kicked a further penalty at the beginning of the second period but Tynedale struck back well and Barry Hills finished off a fine move to make the score 13-16 after 6 minutes of the second half.
The injury crisis worsened for Tyne when Will Massey had to retire and with 15 minutes remaining Macclesfield had kicked two further penalties to make the score 13-22. Tynedale finished brightly and a second converted try from Hills left the game on a knife edge but Macclesfield held out for victory - Tynedale collecting the one bonus point.

Tynedale 20 v Halifax 34(League)
(Half Time 10-10)
Against league leaders Halifax Tynedale got off to an excellent start when the returning Phil Belgian smacked over a penalty from half way in the opening minute. The opening quarter of the match was evenly balanced but Tyne extended their lead after 10 minutes when Ali Gray came in off his wing to show great pace and skill to score what was an excellent try, Belgian converting for a 10-0 lead.
Halifax's forwards turned up the gas and a typical powerfull charge up the middle of the field led to a series of penalties which the visitors opted to kick into the corner. Although Tyne defended well against Halifax's initial attempts the strong visitor's pack eventually forced their way over for the try which was converted to make it 10-7 after 22 minutes.
Tynedale spurned a couple of chances as their backs continued to threaten but it was Halifax who drew level after 35 minutes when they kicked a penalty - ironically the penalty was awarded following Halifax illegaly stealing the ball at Tynedale's scrum when the ball was knocked out of Keith Dungait's hand.
Halifax took control of the match in the third quarter although Tynedale's cause was not helped by the unfortunate Phil Belgian having to leave the field after only several minutes with a recurrence of his hamstring injury. An excellent covering tackle by Stuart Johnson prevented an early Halifax score but with Tyne unable to clear their line Halifax scored a deserved try after 8 minutes.
Tynedale gathered some momentum and Will Massey narrowed the margin after 14 minutes with a penalty only for Halifax to immediately reply with a kick of their own.
Halifax continued to look threatening and after 31 minutes and 38 minutes scored two tries to seal their victory and their supremacy on the day. Tynedale as expected never gave up and scored a deserved consolation try through Jake White.

Dudley Kingswinford 15 v Tynedale 18(League)
(Half Time 5-3)
Tynedale again had to hang on bravely in the dying minutes to record our 6th league victory.
Dudley went into an early lead after only 7 minutes with an unconverted try but Tyne came back and Barry Hills crossed the line but was deemed not to have grounded the ball properly after running around to get close to the sticks.
Both sides spurned opportunities but in what was an open half Tynedale only had a Will Massey penalty to show for their efforts, the interval scoreline being 5-3 to Dudley.
Tyne got off to a strong start in the second period and Massey kicked a penalty after only a couple of minutes to put us in the lead for the first time. A fine handling movement after 53 minutes resulted in the league's top try scorer, Will Massey, going over for a try which he converted himself. With ten minutes to go that man Massey scored another try to give Tyne what looked like a comfortable 18-5 lead although in the second period Dudley had had territorial dominance.
Dudley then laid seige to the Tyne line and quickly kicked a penalty and scored a converted try to make the score 15-18 with 7 minutes of normal time remaining. Tynedale's defence showed formidable strength and organisation as they held out against determined Dudley attacks in the dying minutes.
TEAM:W Massey, B Hills, J White, S Dick, M Bolam, G Beasley, A Gray, P Southern, A Charlton(E Parker), D Herdman, P Scott, G Smith, S Johnson(J Wright), A Murray, R Brown Reps: J Smales, E Parker, B Milburn, J Wright Scorers: Massey - 2 tries, 1 conv, 2 pen
Tynedale 30 v Darlington 27(League)
(Half Time 20-3)
Fot the third match running Tynedale had to hang on in the final minutes to avoid defeat.
Tynedale started strongly and were rewarded with two Will Massey penalties in the opening 10 minutes. Things got better when Alistair Gray, playing at scrum half, intercepted to score under the posts. The visitors then hit back with a penalty but after 22 minutes the league's top try scorer, Will Massey, finished off a fine three quarter movement to give Tyne a comfortable 20-3 lead.
In the period before half time Tynedale should have been completely out of sight but for a failure to capitalise on several excellent opportunities.
Darlington got straight into the game after the interval with a converted try by their right winger and then kicked a penalty to make the score 20-13. A fine Ben Duncan try, converted by Massey and a further penalty from Massey seemed to have sealed the victory but Darlington had not read the script and forced their way back into the match, mainly through their well drilled pack.
In the final 10 minutes two converted tries for Darlo brought the scores back to 30-27 but Tyne held out during the final couple of minutes for victory.

Blaydon 17 v Tynedale 21(League)
(Half Time 3-9)
Tynedale held on to win a close fought derby in what was a rather disappointing performance from the blue and whites by their own recent standards.
In a rather scrappy match during which Tynedale made numerous handling errors Tyne got off to a good start with deputy kicker Will Massey converting a penalty after only two minutes. Blaydon quickly replied with a penalty of their own but then a period of Tynedale pressure went unrewarded.
After 31 minutes Massey kicked his second penalty and he slotted his third on the stroke of half time to edge Tynedale ahead at the interval.
The second period started disastrously for Tynedale when after only 70 seconds a loose pass on halfway was intercepted and Balydon were quickly 10-9 ahead. Worse was to follow when 5 minutes later the Blaydon pack drove over from a close-in lineout to give them a 17-9 lead.
Tynedale never let their heads drop and pinned Blaydon back for long periods and it was no surprise when Rowan Brown went over to narrow the margin to 14-17. The winning score came with only three minutes of normal time remaining when Gavin Beasley drifted through the Blaydon defence for a fine individual try, Massey converting to make the score 21-17.
Tyne had to play out a nervous 7 minutes of stoppage time as Blaydon through everything at them and only several last ditch tackles kept the line intact.
TEAM:W Massey, B Duncan, J White, B Hills, A Gray, G Beasley, K Dungait(S Dick), D Jupp, E Parker(A Charlton), P Southern, P Scott, G Smith(P Hudson), S Johnson, A Murray, R Brown Reps: S Dick, A Charlton, D Herdman, P Hudson Scorers: Brown - try, Beasley - try, Massey - conv, 3 pen
Tynedale 23 v Rugby Lions 23(League)
(Half Time 18-13)
Tynedale and Rugby Lions both earned their draw and both teams will be thinking they should have won in a wonderfully entertaining topsy-turvy match.
Again Tynedale got off to a poor start and after only four minutes found themselves 7 points down when slack defence gave the visitors the chance they gratefully accepted. Tyne came storming back and in one of many slick handling moves Graham Smith went over for a rare try, Phil Belgian converting to level the scores at 7-7 after only 5 minutes.
Four minutes later Tynedale were ahead when Barry Hills celebrated his return to Tynedale with a try which wasn't converted.
Rugby then hit a rich patch and Tynedale had to defend strongly but after 30 minutes Rugby had converted two penalty chances to go 13-12 into the lead. Tyne then took the initiative and Belgian kicked two penalties before half time to give the home side a 18-13 interval lead.
It was all Tynedale in the third quarter and some excellent attacking play was spoilt by occasional lapses and over elaboration which restricted the scores to a single converted try from Ben Duncan. This failure to capitalise when on top proved vital as Rugby came back strongly in the final 10 minutes.
With 6 minutes left Rugby narrowed the margin to 5 points with an unconverted try following a line out. Worse was to follow when in stoppage time a missed kick to touch, poor tackling and lack of defensive cover let Rugby in for an equalising score - the Lions kicker missing the critical conversion.
Tyne did have a chance to snatch victory with the last kick of the match but Belgian's drop kick drifted wide.

New Brighton 28 v Tynedale 7 (League)
(Half Time 22-0)
Tynedale gave at times a lacklustre performance as they were well beaten at New Brighton. The home side took an early lead with a penalty and although Tyne did threaten it was New Brighton who scored again with a converted try.
The game was effectively taken from Tynedale in a 5 minute period before half time when the home sides big pack paved the way for two further tries to give them a 22-0 interval lead.
New Brighton continued their strong play at the begining of the second period and were rewarded with two penalties. Tynedale continued to create their fair share of chances but it was a day when critically they failed to capitalise at important moments.
Tynedale were rewarded for a better second half performance with a well worked try by William Massey but it was too little too late.

Tynedale 45 v Kendal 27 (League)
Tynedale again passed the 40 point mark in an entertaining match at Tynedale Park. Tyne got off to a great start when after only 3 minutes the referee awarded a penalty try after Kendal infringed as the Tynedale scrum heaved the Kendal scrum back towards their own line.
With Tynedale looking very bright a second try soon followed when Gavin Beasley shot over under the posts. A long distance penalty from Phil Belgian extended the lead but Kendal then forced their way back into the match and scored a penalty of their own.
A superb move involvong Graham Smith, Andrew Murray and Paul Scott culminated in a clever finish from Ben Duncan which gave Tyne a comfortable 24-3 interval lead.
Kendal took advantage of some Tynedale hesitancy from the kick off with their firt try but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when another fine Tynedale move resulted in Murray scoring. Belgian then added a try of his own but then Tyne went to sleep with Kendal scoring two tries in a four minute period.
Will Massey extended Tyne's lead again in a high scoring second half with Kendal scoring the final try.

Tynedale's match at Fylde was abandoned after 51 minutes when Alistair Johnson sustained a serious neck injury. Ali was flown to hospital.
Hull 26 v Tynedale 20 (Powergen Cup)
Tynedale went out of the National Powergen Cup at the first attempt when they lost out to a big Hull side in a match which we were always chasing.
Playing against the elements in the first half we conceded an early penalty which was converted before Alistair Gray scored a fine try to take a narrow lead. The lead was short lived as Hull quickly kicked their second penalty.
Tynedale pressed but didnt capitalise on their chances and it was Hull who scored their first try which was converted. Phil Belgian, after a couple of misses, opebned his account with a penalty but Hull once again extended their lead with their second try and on the strojke of half time kicked a penalty making the interval score 8-21.
Tynedale started the second period brightly and scored a good try through Ben Duncan but Tyne then lost William Massie (yellow carded) and were made to pay when Hull rumbled over for their third try.
Restored to 15 men Tynedale attacked continually but their only reward was a second try for Gray which was converted.

Tynedale 30 v Darlington Mowden Park 18 (League Match)
Another good, lively performance from the young Tynedale side gave us our first league victory over a Darlington Mowden Park side who played without any great spirit or determination.
Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half Tynedale had to do most of the defending but a fine disciplined display repelled Darlington's attacks and forced numerous handling errors. Tynedale in fact took the lead after 14 minutes when Phil Belgian converted a penalty although DMP quickly levelled with a kick of their own. Both sides missed penalty opportunities but it was Tynedale who took the lead after 37 minutes when a fine passage of play ended in Andrew' Murray's deft slight of hand giving William Massis a one-on-one opportunity which he took in excellent fashion - Bellgian converting from wide out.
Right on half time DMP kicked a penalty to make it 10-6 at the interval.
Although the wind dropped dramatically in the second half it was always Tynedale who held the upper hand. After 5 minutes stong back row breaks by Murray and Rowan Brown resulted in Peter Southern diving over for his second try of the season.
DMP clawed their way back into the match after 16 minutes when a period of play near the Tynedale line resulted in several penalties and eventually a try.
After 20 minutes Jake White, on as replacement for Phil Belgain, finished off another excellent piece of team rugby, Massie converting and Massie converted a penalty four minutes later to extend the lead. Tyne were now on the rampage and White scored his second try after fine breaks by the Johnson brothers, Alistair and Keith.
With only five minutes to go DMP were rewarded for a spirted revival with a try wide out but it was too little too late and Tynedale were well deserved winners.

Bradford & Bingley 28 v Tynedale 45 (League Match)
Tynedale started the new season in excellent fashion when they turned around a 10-21 half-time deficit to end up comfortable winners against much fancied B&B.
Bradford made the perfect start and went into a 14-0 lead after 18 minutes with tries from Flanker Ian Judson and left wing William Darby, both converted by Tom Rhodes. Tynedale were on the board on 21 minutes when Jack Harrison went over for an unconverted try but the Bees scored again on 25 minutes with lock Barry Clark crossing the line for a third converted try.
Tynedale pulled five points back before the break with a try from Will Massey but still went in 21-10 down.
In the first ten minutes of the second half Tynedale got back within three as Peter Southern went over for a try and after missing his three conversion attempts Phil Belgian put over a 50 metre penalty. Prop Peter Hall put the home side two scores ahead again with a try on 50 minutes, Rhodes again converting.
Belgian added a penalty goal and then two tries in three minutes turned it round for Tyne as Ben Duncan and Belgian crossed the home line with Belgian converting both for a 35-28 lead. Massey added his second try on 69 minutes as Tynedale moved two scores ahead and in command.
Belgian sealed the win with a late penalty goal as we picked up all five points on offer.
