50/50 Half-Time Draw Winner - Wharfedale Supporter (£228)

It’s the season’s return fixture in the ‘Battle of the Dales’ series this weekend when the men of Tyne take on their River Wharfe counterparts in what is always a highly anticipated clash. It’s our turn to play hosts this Saturday as our old friends and “neighbours” make the relatively short 100 mile’ish trip up north from North Yorkshire.

Last season’s visit from Wharfedale was on Saturday November 27th 2021 and coincided with the tail-end of Storm Arwen but despite a few last minutes scares (such as a power cut) the match went ahead in relatively subdued conditions – matches between the two sides have encountered far worse meteorological challenges over the years. On this day Tynedale, despite losing 3 players to injury in the first half-hour, always had the edge and despite pressure from Wharfedale in the second half, held out relatively comfortably for a 24-13 victory.
The Tynedale squad that day was:-
Forwards: Lowdon, Batey, Haigh, Wearmouth, Dunn, Cousin, Mills, Wainwright
Backs: Ball, Grant, Pike, Miller, Clark, Hutton,Todhunter
Replacements: Carmichael, Loughhead, Blackburn, J Outson, Cooke

In the fixture earlier this season, at Wharfedale, Tynedale gave a strong performance which resulted in a 29-22 Tynedale victory – it’s a sure thing that our Yorkshire visitors will be hungry for revenge this Saturday.

Wharfedale currently sit one place below Tynedale in the league on 4 fewer points although they have played one more match than Tynedale.
As we all know Wharfedale (or the “Green Machine” as they are known to their supporters) always provide tough opposition and the Tynedale lads certainly know they’ll be in for a hard, fiercely contested 80 minutes.
