A hat-trick from Tynedale's England U20 hooker Jacob Oliver was not enough to win a game dominated by a strong wind, and the visitors managed the conditions better.
Wind-assisted Tynedale led 19-7 at the break, with tries from Will Roberts, Oliver and Dan Taylor, two conversions by Josh Leslie but a 12 point lead never looked enough to win.
Hull got off the mark with a Michael Jobling try, improved by Reece Dean, and four minutes into the second half a lineout move brought a score from Thomas Bairstow, Dean adding the extras.
Tynedale eased further ahead when Owen Vassallo got the touchdown to a powerful lineout drive, but Hull hit straight back, Buretta Faraimo taking advantage of a defensive slip to make it 24-19.
A crucial Dean penalty after 65 minutes reduced the gap to two, before Oliver finished off work by the Tynedale pack for his second.
A charged down kick allowed Bairstow to grab his second try, and Dean's conversion brought the scores level after 70 minutes.
Oliver's third try seemed to have won the game for Tynedale but pressure brought a second try for Jobling, and Dean's conversion secured victory.
