It’s a big welcome to our old friends and foes Stourbridge this Saturday as they make the long 240 mile journey north to Tynedale Park.
The reverse fixture earlier this season on 25 Sept 2021 proved difficult for Tynedale with an early morning journey being extended to seven hours thanks to M6 roadworks. The arduous journey and the delayed lick off seemed to galvanise Tyne hovever and they started brightly, gaining reward with the opening try.
The home side came back strongly in the second quarter and went in at the interval with a 13-5 advantage. Two Stourbridge tries in the opening 10 minutes of the second half then effectively took the game away from Tynedale.
Tynedale squad in this match was:-
BACKS: Cooke, Bramwell, Clark, Miller, Pike, M Outson, J Outson
FORWARDS: Carmichael, Fletcher, Caudle, Cousin, Dunn, Blackburn, Wainwright, Bell
REPLACEMENTS: Jounston, White, Nankivell, McCullough, Todhunter
Stourbridge currently sit 5th in the table and are very much in the mix for top spot – 8 points behind leaders Hull with a game in hand. Stour started the season with an impressive 10 match winning run and only a stutter either side of Christmas prevents them occupying top spot. We are assured of another tough match.
