THE GREAT NORTH FESTIVAL

Tynedale RFC are hosting the inaugural 'Great North Festival' on the May Day Bank Holiday - Saturday 1st May.

This is a fundraising event for both the main club and the Touch Rugby section with the aim being to provide an inclusive and fun event which extends to the wider community and encourages everyone to play, irrespective of age, sex or ability. Indeed individual competitions are aimed at providing 'something for everyone'; from experienced players in their 20's to those that have never played before. Team entries as of February 2010 indicate that around 50% of teams have players who have never played before!!

We also cater for families and entertainment such as face painting and bouncy castle's will be available.
 
Food, music and entertainment is available throughout the day with the event culminating in the 'Touch the Ball' party held in our marquee (late bar, DJ's and live band).
 
For those in need of accommodation, camping and caravanning facilities are capped at £10 per person, team entries also start at £10 per player (significant reductions for those wishing to enter two or three events), and 'Touch the Ball' tickets are only £10 per person with bar prices at sensible levels)
 
Competitions for the Touch Rugby event include:-
Every team must have at least two women on the pitch during play!!
 
For those organising a team your efforts are reward with a VIP pass. This includes a complimentary 'Touch the Ball' ticket and drinks vouchers.
 
If you'd like to play but don't have a team or can only find half a squad of players - no problem! We'll fix you up with like-minded team mates and introduce you prior to the festival.
