For the second successive away match Tynedale were clobbered by 6 tries to 4 as a Blackheath side who until recently were facing a relegation scare put Tyne to the sword.
After a difficult travel the match started brightly for Tyne with Charlie Ingall scoring a try after only 3 minutes which Andrew Hall converted.
The match was very open and Tyne almost doubled their total after 8 minutes when Greg Irvin lost the ball on the point of scoring aftre cutting a great line.
Things then started to go wrong for the visitors as Blackheath, who played with a level of physicality, work rate and energy which Tyne always struggled to match, scored their first try after 10 minutes following one of a catalogue of missed tackles which littered the match.
The home side took the lead after 14 minutes with a converted penalty and went further ahead after 18 minutes with a try which followed some lack of desire in defence.
Tyne got themselves back in the match with a well worked try for Jack Harrison after 22 minutes to make the score 17-12 to Blackheath but another missed tackle led to Blackheath's third try after 36 minutes. Peter Cole scored Tyne's third try in frst half stoppage time to make the score 24-17 at the interval.
The first half had been reasonably even but any hopes of Tyne getting back into the match were blown away in the opening 4 minutes of the second half as Blackheath scored two converted tries to effectively seal the match.
Both scores were again a combination of some strong direct running and some very poor non-committed, leaden footed "defence".
After 21 minutes the home side converted a penalty to make the score 41-17 and with 9 minutes to go they scored their sixth try before Cole scored the final try of the match to give Tyne a bonus point which was liitle consolation for what had been a poor performance in the last match of what had been another great season for Tom Borthwick's men.

Tynedale 40 v Newbury 26 (Half Time:18-7)

Tynedale ended their home season with a convincing victory but gave a mixed performance, scoring seven tries but conceding four against a side who are struggling to avoid the drop.
Tyne again started like an express train and Jack Harrison was over for the first of his two tries with barely a minute gone.

Tyne however then proceeded to give a rather lacklustre dislay and it was no surprise when the visitors scored a converted try after 13 minutes to take a slender lead.
The Newbury try spurred them into several useful attacks which came to nothing and it was Tyne who scored next when Joe Graham went over after 28 minutes.

Tyne's second try was quickly followed by a try for Peter Cole who capitalised on some good play from James Hoyle and the a Gavin Beasley penalty shortly before the break mode the score 18-7 at the interval.

Newbury started well in the second half and were rewarded with a converted try after 3 minutes to bring them right back into the game but Tyne quickly retaliated and Charlie Ingall sped over for their fourth try within a couple of minutes to make it 23-14.
Further tries from Harrison and Jamie Murray then took Tyne well clear at 35-14 but the visitors hit back with two scores in the last 10 minutes which gave them what could yet be a critical bonus point.
Ingall wrapped proceedings up with Tyne's seventh try on the stroke of time.

Stourbridge 38 v Tynedale 22 (Half Time:21-0)
Tynedale performed below par and suffered the consequences against an in-form Stourbridge side.
Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half Tyne never played with the energy of the previous week and conceded the first try after 12 minutes when the home side cut through in midfield for a converted try.
The home side's second try followed 6 minutes later when they chipped through to score and after 25 minutes Tyne found themselves 21-0 in arrears when Stourbridge scored their third converted try from a lineout catch and drive.
Tyne had several glorious opportunities to score prior to the interval but simple handling errors proved costly as the visitors struggled to get a foothold in the match.
The second half began with more promise and Charlie Ingall scored a try 9 minutes into the half but within 5 minutes the home side scored their fourth converted try.
A Matthew Fieldhouse try with 20 minutes to go brought the score back to 28-12 but any hopes of a revival were lost when Stourbridge were gifted an interception try after 31 minutes of the half.
Late tries from Hamish Smales and Graham MacGilchrist ensured Tyne came away with a bonus point from a very disappointing performance.

Tynedale 59 v London Scottish 22 (Half Time:35-10)
Tynedale blew away London Scottish, the league's second place side, with one of their best displays of the season in an excellent match played out in glorious spring weather.
The first of Tyne's nine tries came after only 5 minutes when Gavin Beasley stepped inside to score from quick lineout ball - he then converted his own try, the first of his seven successful conversions.
Tyne were playing with a sharpness and eagerness, which had been missing in recent games, against a strong, dangerous Scottish side urged on by their lone piper (thank god there was only one of them!). The second home try came after only 11 minutes when Jack Harrison made an excellent break and timed his pass to perfection to send James Hoyle over.

The visitors responded immediately after Tyne had failed to handle a straightforward restart - kicking a penalty to make the score 14-3.
The razor sharp Harry Peck then scored the first of his three tries when he shot away from a quickly taken tap penalty and after 25 mintes Peck jinked through again in brilliant fashion to score the bonus point try.
Grant Beasley was next on the scoreboard when he finished off a brilliant display of handling and support following a Jamie Murray interception to make the score 35-3 with only 25 minutes played.

Before half time the visitors applied pressure and got a deserved score when good hands and dodgy tackling resulted in a try making it 35-10 at the interval.
The second half started in similar fashion to the first with Peck finishing off from an attacking scrum No 8 pick up to score his hat trick of tries.

The visitors scored their second try after 11 minutes of the half following a long period of possession to make the score 42-17.
Peter Cole responded with a try 2 minutes later when he gathered a poor Scottish kick and left the viisitor's defence for dead.
After 23 minutes Scottish scored their third try to make the score 47-22 but it was Tyne's turn next when Jack Harrison and Charlie Ingall combined well with Ingall finishing in fine style.
The final try of a pulsating match was scored by Andrew Hall who finished skillfully to score Tyne's ninth try with only 2 minutes remaining.

Tynedale 33 v Cinderford 19 (Half Time: 21-8)
Tynedale ended up winners against a Cinderford team who pushed a rather jaded looking home side all the way.
Tyne played with a strong wind at their backs in the first half and took an early lead after only 3 minutes when Andrew Murray cut a good strong line to score after a prolonged attack - Gavin Beasley converting.

The visitory quickly demonstrated their own talents and failed to capitalise on a two man overlap but were awarded a penalty which they converted with 7 minutes on the clock.
A good Tyne scrum and pick-up led to Tyne's second try on 11 minutes with Joe Graham getting the touchdown.

Cinderford were never out of this game and worryingly for Tynedale they were able to cut through the Tyne midfield defence with relative ease and it was a series of missed tackles which led to Cinderford's opening try after 27 minutes which brought the score back to 14-8.
The match was lacking any real tempo and mistakes were aplenty from both sides but good hands from Greg Irvin resulted in Tyne's third try shortly before half time which gave Tyne a 13 point advantage with a strong wind to face in the second half.
Cinderford quickly narrowed the gap with a penalty 3 minutes after the restart but the Tyne scrum was beginning to really dominate and Ali Gray sped over for a welcome home try after 11 minutes to make the score 26-11.

Tyne came close several times to scoring in what had become an ill-tempered game but it was the visitors who scored next with a try in the corner after 30 minutes of the second half. A successful penalty for the visitors then narrowed the gap to seven points with only 3 minutes of normal time remaining but any hopes Cinderford had of returning home with some reward for their efforts were squashed when Jack Harrison scored a try in the second minute of stoppage time.

Tynedale 40 v Otley 17 (Half Time:26-12)
Tynedale ended up winning convincingly over an Otley side whose useful home record does not compensate for their dismal results when on the road.
Tyne, playing with a stiff breeze at their backs, dominated the early exchanges and some strong forward play resulted in a try after only 2 minutes from Jamie Murray which Robert Miller, making his first appearance of the season, duly converted.
At this early stage in the match it appeared that Otley could not match Tynedale's speed of action and thought and two further tries followed within the space of 7 minutes for Grant Beasley and Grant Rastall. So after only 9 minutes play Tyne had a healthy 19-0 lead.
Most people at this point believed a cricket score was on the cards but the young Otley side picked themselves up and began to demonstrate that they too had a bag of tricks when it came to free fast-flowing rugby and their play was rewarded with two tries after 13 and 15 minutes to make the score 19-12 with not even a quarter of the match played.
Disruptive injuries to Dominic Shaw and James Hoyle did not help Tyne's cause as Tyne's play began to lose structure with the ball being flung around frantically like a hot potato with phases difficult to spot.
Jamie Murray scored Tyne's bonus point try from a dominant scrum after 29 minutes to make the score 26-12 at the interval.
Remarkably the match was scoreless in the second period until 10 minutes from the end when an increasingly dominant scrum led to a Greg Irvin try off the base. Hamish Smales ran in for the first Tyne back try with only 3 minutes of normal time remaining.
Otley scored a deserved consolation try at the death to close what was a 'mixed' Tynedale performance.
TEAM: J Hoyle (G Irvin), P Cole, J Harrison, R Miller, H Smales, G Beasley, D Shaw (A Hall), J Williams (A Harrison), J Graham, K Brookes, B Marshall (D Whitehead), A Murray, G Beasley (M Fieldhouse), J Murray, G Rastall

Manchester 6 v Tynedale 70 (Half Time:3-29)
Tynedale trounced a brave Manchester side, scoring 12 tries in the process.
The scoring started in the 8th minute when Chris Pease scored his first try. Sep Visser then scored a couple of tries in the space of 5 minutes, Andrew Hall converting the first to make the score 17-0 after 17 minutes play.
A spirited Manchester side then kicked the first of two good penalty conversions to narrow the gap but further tries from Kevin Showler and Kieran Brookes made it 29-3 at the interval.
It was the home side who scored first in the second half with their second penalty after 5 minutes. It took Tyne 14 minutes of the second half to get on the scoresheet with Pease scoring his second.
Tries then came at regular intervals with Hamish Smales, Charlie Ingall, Jonny Williams (twice) Grant Beasley and Jack Harrison crossing for scores.
TEAM: S Visser, C Pease, J Harrison, H Smales, C Ingall (A Gray), A Hall, D Shaw, K Brookes, M Fieldhouse (J Graham), A Harrison (J Williams), G Dunn (D Whitehead), K Showler, G MacGilchrist (G Beasley), G Irvin, J Cousin

Tynedale 55 v Wharfedale 18 (Half Time:17-13)
Tynedale bounced back from last Sunday's disappointment with a rousing display which eventully completely overwhelmed a good Wharfedale side in what was an entertaining game.
In a very competitive first half Tyne were first off the mark after 5 minutes when Jamie Murray capitalised on a Wharfedale mix-up, sprinting clear for the try which was converted by Gavin Beasley.

Wharfedale came back well but were restricted to a 9th minutes penalty before James Hoyle scored an excellent try after 14 minutes when he finished off a move he had initiated from well within his own half.

Wharfedale quickly narrowed Tyne's lead when an ambitious pass was intercepted and the score was 12-10 with 20 minutes played.
After 34 minutes Charlie Ingall scored an excellent try after Beasley and Peter Cole had combined well but the visitors kept in touch when they converted their second penalty just short of half time to make the scoreline 17-13.

Tyne opened well at the start of the second half and after only 3 minutes Joe Graham darted over for a try. With the Tyne scrum well on top Hoyle scored his second try 3 minutes later which was converted by replacement Andrew Hall for a 29-13 lead.
The match was still very competitive at this stage and Wharfedale kept themselves in the match with a good try bringing the score to 29-18 with only 8 minutes of the half played.
The next 20 minutes went scoreless with both sides having chances but it was a bright Tyne side who finished strongly and stunned the tireing visitors with four good tries in the last 15 minutes. Andrew Murray drove over from close range after 28 minutes and 3 minutes later Hall finished incisively after Beasley had done well.
Hoyle completed a fine hat-trick after he had linked well with Hamish Smales before Beasley scored the final try after further Hoyle wizardry to round off a tremendous victory for Tyne.

Blaydon 13 v Tynedale 11 (Half Time:13-11)
Blaydon achieved the double over Tynedale with the narrowest of victories in a match which was dominated by the attrocious conditions and a disciplined well organised home defence.
Blaydon took and early lead with a penalty after only 2 minutes but then Tyne converted two penalties of their own through Gavin Beasley to take a 6-3 lead with 12 minutes gone.
On 20 minutes Blaydon scored a well worked try which critically was converted to give them a 10-6 lead but within 4 minutes Tyne responded with an unconverted try from Andrew Murray following a series of pick and go drives by the Tyne forwards to give the visitors a slender 11-10 lead.

A 22rd minute penalty for Blaydon restored their lead and proved to be the final score of the match as conditions seriously worsened.

Tyne dominated the vast majority of second half territory and possession but understandably mistakes were common and Blaydon's defnce remained solid.
Tyne were restricted to a single difficult penalty opportunity although it did look as though Joe Graham had scored a try only for the ref to bring play back for what seemed a relatively obscure offence.

On a difficult day for anyone to play rugby it was simply not Tynedale's day.
TEAM: J Hoyle, P Cole, J Harrison, H Smales, C Ingall, G Beasley, D Shaw, J Williams, J Graham, D Jupp (A Harrison), B Marshall (K Showler), A Murray, G Beasley (M Fieldhouse), J Murray, G Rastall (G Irvin)

Tynedale 33 v Nuneaton 12 (Half Time:14-9)
Tynedale stuttered to a comfortable victory over second bottom Nuneaton who had the lions share of possession and territory but lacked any cutting edge to their play and rarely threatened to cross the Tyne line.
The visitors went into an early lead when they converted their first penalty after only 3 minutes.
Tyne hit back within 2 minutes when a loose clearance kick by Nuneaton was ran back in incisive fashion with James Hoyle combining with Charlie Ingall who sped over for the first try which was converted by Andrew Hall.

Tyne struggled for the majority of the match to gain clean possession from set or open play and it was the visitors who dominated possession and they were rewarded with their second penalty after 25 minutes.
On 32 minutes Tyne scored their second try when after a couple of half breaks Grant Rastall was in support to take an offload and speed away from the visitors' defence. This score was quickly followed by a third Nuneaton penalty to make it 14-9 at the interval.

Nuneaton got off to the perfect start after the interval when they converted their fourth penalty after only 1 minute to cut the margin to two points. Once again the Nuneaton score appeared to inspire Tynedale and within a couple of minutes Hamish Smales broke through for an unconverted try.
Nuneaton continued to win most of the useful possession and it was not until the final quarter that Tyne at last began to win some clean quick ball with Charlie Ingall crossing for his second try after 30 minutes. The match was sealed 6 minutes later when Gavin Beasley cut through for the fifth try.

Esher 34 v Tynedale 24 (Half Time:24-5)
Tynedale staged a strong second half performance to come away from table toppers Esher with a try scoring bonus point but were always chasing the game after Esher had dominated the first half scoring.
Esher wasted no time in taking the initiative and worked a good try after only 3 minutes play which was converted for a 7-0 lead.
Play was very open and Tyne could have done better when a lovely Gavin Beasley break was not capitalised on.
The Esher scrum at this stage was looking strong and Esher applied some pressure which resulted in the loss of a Tyne prop to the sin bin and the conceding of 7 further points with 19 minutes gone.
Esher increased their lead with a penalty after 29 minutes but 4 minutes later Tyne got on the scoreboard when Matthew Fieldhouse intercepted a pass deep inside his own half and he expertly evaded his pursuers to score in the corner.
Esher were still more threatening however and they increased their lead further just before the interval when they intercepted a loose pass to score under the posts for a 24-5 half time lead.
Esher again started well at the beginning of the second period and were rewarded with their fourth try after only 2 minutes following some good team play.
Tyne now raised their game and following some impressive play James Hoyle scored a converted try with 12 minutes of the half gone.
An Esher penalty after 19 minutes made the score 34-12 but Tyne then began to assert themselves and scored two Jamie Murray tries after 25 and 32 minutes to secure a bonus point.
The last 10 minutes went scoreless with Tynedale failing to narrow the gap further to win a second bonus point.

Tynedale 71 v Stourbridge 14 (Half Time:40-14)
Tynedale destroyed Stourbridge with an eleven try execution with the match being over as a contest within 10 minutes of the kick off!
The writing was on the wall when Ben Marshall crossed for the opening try after Hamish Smales had broken through.
Within 2 minutes Joe Graham darted over for the second try and this was quickly followed by a Jamie Murray pushover score as the Tyne pack destroyed the visitor's pack which it has to be said was not at full strength.
When Gavin Beasley cut through for the fourth and bonus point try there was only 9 minutes gone and Tyne had established a 26-0 lead.

The scoring continued when Harry Peck scored a solo effort after 15 minutes.
The visitors, however, then hit a purple patch and scored two converted tries of their own after 22 and 28 minutes to bring the score back to 33-14.
Replacement Andrew Hall crossed after 32 minutes and his conversion made the score 40-11 at the interval.
Although Stourbridge had plenty of possession and territorial advantage in the second half they rarely looked like scoring and it was the sharp cutting edge of the Tynedale side which led to the scoring of five more unanswered tries - Jack Harrison (2), Hamish Smales (2) and Jamie Murray being the second half scorers.

Tynedale 38 v Launceston 22 (Half Time: 21-15)
Tyne continued their recent fine run of form with another good win over third placed Launceston (or the Cornish All Blacks as they seem to be called now).
The match started in eventful fashion with both sides looking to move the ball around in what for long periods was a ding-dong battle. The visitors took an early lead after only 5 minutes when they drove over with remarkable ease for the opening try which was converted.
Tyne came back straight into the match and Phi Belgian converted penalties on 6 and 9 minutes to narrow the deficit. After 14 minutes Tyne went into the lead for the first stime when a dominant scrum led to Sep Visser going over for a converted try and a 13-7 lead.
At this stage the Tyne pack looked ominously lethargic around the field and the visitors cut through to score their second try after 16 minutes to reduce Tyne's lead to a single point. The sides exchanged penalties before Jamie Murray capitalised on some good teamwork to cross for an unconverted try to establish a 21-15 interval lead.
Tyne critically scored the first points of the second half when livewire scrum half Dominic Shaw shot over from a ruck - Belgian converting for a 28-15 lead. Victory was sealed on 54 minutes when Belgian crossed for a rare try after Joe Graham had charged down a clearance.
With 15 minutes remaining the Cornishmen scored their third try which was converted to bring the score back to 33-22 but within 5 minutes Tyne reasserted their position when Visser crossed for his second try and Tyne's fifth to seal another excellent victory.

Cambridge 17 v Tyndale 20 (Half Time: 12-8)
Tynedale snatched an excellent away victory with a late try to inflict Cambridge's first home defeat of the season.
Cambridge attacked strongly in the opening period and had several opportunities but were restricted to a single unconverted try to take an early lead.
Tyne's lineout did not function well throughout but the scrum held the upperhand and after 15 minutes Phil Belgian narrowed the deficit with a penalty under the sticks.
Five minutes later and Tyne edged ahead when Dominic Shaw intercepted on halfway and sped away for the touchdown.
The lead only lasted three minutes however with a Cambridge back slipping tackles for a converted try which made it 12-8 to Cambridge at the interval.
Tyne upped their game in the second period but it was Cambridge who went further ahead with their third try for a 17-8 lead.
As the match progressed Tyne's determination to get back into the match was evident and a Joe Graham try brought the score back to 17-13 with ten minutes remaining. It was now Tyne who looked the likely victors but it was deep into stoppage time when Charlie Ingall crossed for the winning score much to the delight of the travelling party.

Tynedale 41 v Sedgley Park 0 (Half Time: 17-0)
Tynedale came back from their 5 week enforced layoff to celebrate the new year with a seven try demolition of Sedgley Park.
The opening score came after only 2 minutes when the lively Peter Cole finished off some crisp inter-passing down the tight side following a well organised catch and drive by the forwards.

The visitors at this stage had their fair share of the game without really threatening and Tyne capitalised on some of their loose play when Charles Ingall set up Gavin Beasley for the second try after 16 minutes.

The visitors continued at this stage to have the territorial advantage but their play was untidy and on 30 minutes Cole scored his second try following some strong forward play - Phil Belgian converting for a 17-0 lead which was the half time score.
The match was effectively sewn up after 5 minutes of the restart when Hamish Smales scored following some slick passing - Belgian converting.
On 52 minutes Jamie Murray scored the fifth try and Jack Harrison crossed three minutes later as the Sedgley heads visibly sank.
In the last few minutes yet another Park mistake was pounced on by livewire scrum half Dominic Shaw to seal a convincing victory.

London Scottish 34 v Tynedale 24 (Half Time: 20-7)
Tynedale had the perfect start against London Scottish when Gavin Beasley outsmarted the home defence to touch down under the posts with only 4 minutes gone - Phil Belgian converting for a 7-0 lead.
The home side however quickly showed their strengths with their strong scrummage and speedy backs posing constant problems and they got off the mark after 12 minutes with a converted penalty.
Half way through the opening half Scottish scored a converted try to take a 10-7 lead which was extended further on 27 minutes when they kicked their second penalty.
The killer try came on the stroke of half time when a well executed lineout drive resulted in a second converted try for the home side giving them a convincing 20-7 half time advantage.
Tyne played better in the second period but were always chasing the game. Hopes were raised fleetingly after 4 minutes of the half when Belgian kicked a penalty but Scottish came back strongly and within 3 minutes had scored their third converted try to extend their lead to 27-10.
After 28 minutes of the second period Tyne struck with a well worked try for Charles Ingall which Belgian converted to bring the score back to 27-17 but again Scottish hit back quickly with their fourth converted try.
Sep Visser scored for Tyne with two minute of normal time remaining - Gavin Beasley converting to make the final score 24-34.

Tynedale 32 v Redruth 15 (Half Time: 15-5)
Tynedale were comfortable winners over their Cornish opposition and consequently recorded their fourth successive league victory.
Tyne started brightly but it was the visitors who opened the scoring after only 3 minutes when they crossed for a try wide out with the Tyne defence still in the changing room.
Tyne continued to threaten and were rewarded afdter 13 minutes when Joe Graham took full advantage of a Gavin Beasley flip back inside to cross for his sixth try of the season - Andrew Hall converted to give Tyne a two point advantage.
Tynes second try came on 20 minutes when Peter Cole showed good strength and determination to score in the corner and Hall added a penalty on 27 minutes to give Tyne a 15-5 lead which was the half time score despite a period of intense Redruth pressure in the minutes leading upto the interval.
Tyne again started the second half brightly and were quickly rewarded when Grant Beasley shot over for a converted try. Hall quickly added his second penalty to make the score 25-5 with thirty minutes to go.
Redruth's driving maul was always a handful and it was such a drive which led to their second score after 17 minutes of the second half.
On 33 minutes Cole again finished well to score the bonus point fourth try and Hall converted to make the score 32-10. In the fourth minute of stoppage time Redruth's maul again proved unstoppable as they scored a third try which didn't really ease their long journey home.

Cinderford 10 v Tynedale 18 (Half Time: 10-7)
Tynedale generally controlled this difficult away fixture and ran out deserved winners.
Cinderford began the match strongly and the first 10 minutes was perhaps their best spell of the match. After only 3 minutes Tynedale were penalised for offside close to their line and the ref deemed a penalty try was the appropriate punishment!!
Cinderford continued to press and failed with a penalty after 6 minutes before Tynedale at last began to impose themselves. Shortly after Tyne missed a penalty they were rewarded with an Andrew Murray try following some slick inter-play - Andrew Hall converting to bring the sores level.
Tynedale now had the upperhand but they failed to take several half chances and it was Cinderford who went into the break ahead after they had converted a 32 minute penalty.
Tyne dominated most of the second period with their set pieces being particularly strong. Hall converted two penalties after 8 and 18 minutes of the second half to give Tyne a narrow three point advantage which did inspire a brief Cinderford surge which was repelled by a resolute Tyne defence.
Tyne's general dominance was rewarded with a Jonny Williams try with 10 minutes left which effectively sealed a satisfying victory.

Tynedale 93 v Manchester 0 (Half Time: 52-0)
Tynedale completed the destruction of troubled Manchester with the minimum of fuss and not a yellow card in sight!

Eight first half tries and seven second half tries came at regular intervals with the regular ball supply coupled with the pace and slickness of the Tyne backs being far too much for the visitors.
Of the 15 tries scored only one was scored by the forwards and that was a scrum pushover score for Jamie Murray.

Wharfedale 15v Tynedale 21 (Half Time: 6-15)
Tynedale gave a much more spirited and livlier performance to gain a much needed win against Wharfedale who were defending a 100% home record.
Tyne held the edge in the first half and had the home side on the back foot for long periods -Wharfedale's cause was not helped when they had a second row sent off after 20 minutes for foul play.
Hamish Smales opened the scoring after 7 minutes when he dived over for a try following a quick tap penalty.
Wharfedale replied with a penalty which followed the yellow carding of Jamie Murray after 25 minutes.
Tyne came straight back and within 3 minutes scored their second try following a driving maul with Joe Graham getting the touchdown - Andrew Hall converting for a deserved 12-3 lead.
The sides exchanged penalties before half time to leave Tyne with a 15-6 advantage.
Wharfedale came out for the second half with renewed determination and their fourteen men generally had better of things in the second period.
Second half scoring was restricted to three penalties for the home side (who did miss three other kickable penalties) and two further penalties for Hall.
In the dying minutes - just to make it more exciting - Tyne had two players yellow carded but the thirteen men held out for victory.

Tynedale 22v Blaydon 28 (Half Time: 8-5)
Tynedale slumped alarmingly to their fifth defeat in the last six matches and matters were made far worse by the fact that it was arch rivals Blaydon who inflicted their latest defeat.
Tynedale had the advantage of a breeze in the opening half and had numerous attacks in the opening quarter - creating several half gaps which due to a lack of confidence, and in some cases match fitness, went unexploited against a strong, determined Blaydon defence.
It was not until the 22nd minute that the scoreboard got moving when Gavin Beasley converted a penalty to give Tyne a slender advantage.
Blaydon began to look dangerous in their sorties into the Tyne half and after 31 minutes scored a try after Tyne had failed to deal with a Blaydon kick through - Blaydon recycling to leave men over.
Deep into first half stoppage time James Hoyle scored after some slick hands had created the opportunity to give Tyne a 8-5 half time lead.
Blaydon, whose lively forwards demonstrated more energy and determination throughout, took the initiative in the second half and levelled after 2 minutes with a drop goal.
Tyne struggled to get out of their own half as Blaydon missed two kickable penalties before their pressure was rewarded with a converted try after the Tynedale ball was turned over - not for the first or last time.
By this time Jamie Murray was off the field in the sin bin and Blaydon quickly extended their lead when some indecision in the home defence gave the visitors a run in and a 20-8 lead.
Blaydon now were well in the ascendency and after 25 minutes extended their lead further with a penalty.
Tyne did rally and Jonnie Williams crossed for a converted try on 38 minutes to make it 15-23 but any hopes of a comeback were squashed when Blaydon scored their fourth try 5 minutes into stoppage time.
Tyne did score through Peter Cole with the last play of the match - Andrew Hall converting to secure a losing bonus point.

Nuneaton 21 v Tynedale 20 (Half Time: 3-20)
Tynedale were again involved in a close result - this time missing out by a single point to lowly Nuneaton after building a 20 point advantage in a wind affected match.
Playing with a strong breeze Tynedale were quickly in the attack and after a series of decisions going against the home side the referee awarded Tyne a penalty try which Ash Smith converted for an encouraging 7-0 lead.
Tyne continued to assert pressure and after 9 minutes Joe Graham shot over for an unconverted try to extend the lead.
After further pressure Smith dropped a goal after 20 minutes and 10 minutes later Graham scored his second try for a healthy 20-0 advantage.
Before half time the home side began to put some plays together and were rewarded with a penalty on 36 minutes which left the score 20-3 to Tynedale at the interval.
Tynedale seemed taken be surpise by the early Nuneaton assault in the second period and the home side scored an unconverted try in tyhe early minutes of the half.
The home side were now in the ascendency and a penalty was quickly followed by a converted try - the result of several badly missed tackles.
With 3 minutes of normal time remaining further home pressure was rewarded with a converted penalty to put the home side into the lead for the first time. Despite late Tyne pressure the home side held out for the win.

Tynedale 27 v Esher 42 (Half Time: 10-34)
An impressive Esher side effectively won this watch with three converted tries in the space of 6 minutes after Tyne had taken an early lead - and all of this was in the first 10 minutes of a pulsating match!!
Tyne started brightly and opened the scoring when Spencer Davey shot outside his man to open the scoring after only two minutes.
Unfortunately for Tyne they failed to deal with the restart and the visitors were allowed to simply stroll though for an immediate response - they converted the try to edge ahead 7-5 with 3 minutes played.
Esher then had a real purple patch playing fast, athletic, powerful rugby which Tynedale failed to match with Esher scoring further tries after 6 and 9 minutes play - both converted to give them a healthy 21-5 advantage with only 9 minutes gone!
Although Esher continued to generally look the stronger side Tyne put together their own impressive passages of play and were rewarded when Davey scored his second unconverted try after 15 minutes.
Again Tyedale failed to control from the restart and a Esher penalty after 18 minutes made the score 10-24. There was then a lull in the scoring until the 32nd minute when Esher scored their fourth try which was again converted and their impresive display was further rewarded on the stroke of half time with a converted penalty to make the score 10-34 at half time.
Tyne came out, as expected, in determined fashion at the start of the second half but Esher weathered the pressure and it was the visitors who scored first after 10 minutes when they broke away from deep inside their own half to score a try which this time went unconverted.
Esher then lost a man to the sin bin and this coupled with the entrance onto the field of Tynedale fresh legs inspired a two try Tynedale burst which for a short period hinted at a possible turn around as the momentum went Tynedale's way.
On 17 minutes Alan Rogers scored Tyne's third try - again unconverted and the 'comeback' gained pace when Greg Irvin strode over unopposed for Tynedale's fourth try after 23 minutes which this time was converted to make the scoreline 22-39.
Any chance of Tyne recovering the match were lost however when Tynedale stupidly lost a man for dissent and it was Esher who scored on 40 minutes with a penalty although Tyne still had time to add their fifth try and Rogers's second, in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
This was a match in which Tyne matched their impressive visitors in scoring five tries and indeed strung together some excellent passages of play but failed to conistently match the visitors in critical areas at critical times.

Launceston 23 v Tynedale 17 (Half Time: 10-10)
Tynedale were eventually happy to settle for a losing bonus point despite holding a 17-13 lead midway through the second period.
The high-flying Cornishmen took a 13 minute lead with a converted penalty but Tyne were quickly on the attack resulting in Jack Harrison crossing for an unconverted try.
The home side then had a period of pressure and were rewarded with a converted try to gain a 10-5 advantage. Before half time Tyne's endeavours were rewarded with a Grant Rastall try which levelled the scores.
The second half saw Tyne under early pressure and their cause was not helped when two players were yellow-carded. Launceston took advantage with a penalty to regain their lead but Tyne then came back with some strong forward play which resulted in a try for Peter Cole which was converted from wide out by Ash Smith to give Tyne a 17-13 lead.
Unfortunately for Tyne some elaborate attacking play broke down and Launceston broke 70 meters to score a converted try to gain a 20-17 advantage.
The last quarter saw Tyne holding on for a bonus point with Launceston's scoring being restricted to a late penalty.

Tynedale 21 v Cambridge 20 (Half Time: 7-15)
After losing out the previous week by a single point Tynedale's fortunes were reversed with a single point victory over previously unbeaten Cambridge in a match played out with a gale force wind blowing down the field.
Tynedale won the toss and opted to play against the gale in the first half. A series of early penalties and some bright running against the gale ensured a lively start for Tyne but things took a major turn for the worse after 10 minutes with Tyne quickly finding themselves 15 points down with only 15 minutes played.
Poor tackling gifted the visitors their first try which was quickly followed by a second score as their forwards powered over. A converted penalty shortly afterwards provided the ideal start for Cambridge but Tyne raised their all round game and were rewarded when Jamie Murray ran a great line to score under the posts after 20 minutes - Gavin Beasley converted to provide what would turn out to be two critical extra points.
Cambridge rarely threaetened for the remainder of the half as Tynedale's defence and discipline held firm. Tynedale went in at the interval happy to have restricted the Cambridge advantage to only eight points.

The second half, however, started badly for Tyne as we kicked dead from the kick off. Cambridge possession and a string of penalty infringements resulted in the Tyne defence being under pressure and the visitors were rewarded when they scored an unconverted try from a quickly taken tap penalty to extend their lead to 13 points.
At this stage Cambridge were having much the better of things and half way through the half, with Tyne still not having added to their first half tally, things looked to have taken a turn for the worse when Andrew Murray was yellow carded. Ironically 14 men Tynedale went on to score two well worked tries in the space of 3 minutes to turn the match around completely.
The first try came when Gavin Beasley knifed his way through and the second was from Matthew Fieldhouse who finished well after some impressive handling. Critically Beasley converted both tries to give tyne a single point lead.
Restored to 15 men Tyne held out relatively comfortable for the remainder of the match as Cambridge struggled to get out of their own half.

Sedgley Park 23 v Tynedale 22 (Half Time: 20-8)
Tynedale got what they deserved at Sedgley Park when a woeful first half performance effectvely handed the match to the home side on a plate.

Sedgley dominated from the start and were rewarded with a penalty after only 5 minutes. Park continued to press but it was Tynedale who took a surprise lead after 18 minutes when Sep Visser finished off an excellent passage of play which was completely out of context with the rest of the first half.
Park, however almost immediately restored their lead with a converted try and both sides exchanged penalties before a converted Park try after 33 minutes gave the home side a deserved 20-8 half time advantage.

The second half was in fact a complete turn around from the first 40 minutes with Tyne continually asking the questions and looking by far the brighter side.
Unfortunately for Tyne however they did concede three further vital points after 11 minutes of the half when Park kicked a penalty in a rare foray into Tyne's half.
After 16 minutes Jake White scored a try, converted by Gavin Beasley, following a scrum against the head to narrow the gap to 23-15.
Tyne's third try came on 23 minutes when Joe Graham crossed in the corner - Beasley converting to bring the gap down to a single point.
The money was now all on Tynedale but the home side held out for the narrowest of victories in what was definitely a "game of two halves"

Tynedale 48 v Blackheath 23 (Half Time: 22-13)
Tynedale opened their home league programme with comprehensive victory over Blackheath scoring 7 tries to the visitors' 3 in an entertaining match.
Tyne opened in sensational fashion and Jamie Murray crossed after only 6 minutes following a quickly taken tap penalty. Two minutes later Peter Cole scored the second try following some incisive running and handling to give Tyne an early 12-0 lead.

Blacheath then had perhaps their best period of the match and got on the scoreboard after 16 minutes with a penalty which was quickly followed by a well worked try after the Tyne defence had been broken to bring the score back to 12-10.
The sides exchanged further penalties before Jack Harrison scored
following some strong forward play. Tyne went in at the interval with
a 22-13 advantage with still a bit of work to do.
The second half, however, was almost all Tynedale with the visitors only getting into the match right at the death when they scored two late tries.
Tyne's ascendency was rewarded with a Greg Irwin try after 10 minutes of the half when he finished off an excellent passage of play involving several phases.

Further tries were scored by Sep Visser, Alan Rogers and debutant Matty Outson with Gavin Beasley giving a fine kicking display which was rewarded with 5 conversions and a penalty.

Otley 23 v Tynedale 23 (Half Time: 7-11)
Already without several key players Tyne lost scrum half Dominic Shaw with a broken arm after only 5 minutes play and were unable to play with any continuity as one mistake followed another in a disappointing match.
Otley took the lead after 25 minutes with a converted try but Tyne, who had looked the more likely side, responded immediately with a well taken try fom debutant replacement Ashley Smith who himself had to be replaced shortly afterwards with a back injury.
Gavin Beasley then kicked two penalties in the 10 minute period before half time to give Tynedale a 11-7 interval lead.
Tyne started well in the second peirod and looked to have the match in the bag after Hamish Smales had ran in a try fom 50 metres after only 5 minutes play - Beasley converting for a 18-7 lead.
Otley however got right back into the match with three successful penalties in a 10 minute period.
With 8 minutes of normal time remaining Tyne again reasserted themselves with a well worked try for Matthew Fieldhouse but then with only two minutes of normal time left Otley drew level with a catch and drive converted try.
Into injury time Otley should have snatched the match with a penalty in front of the posts but fortunately for Tyne the kick went wide.

Newbury Blues 22 v Tynedale 24 (Half Time: 9-10)
Tynedale snatched victory with a converted try in the final play of a poor match and came away from a difficult 580 mile round trip with four points which their more enterprising play deserved.
The Blues took an early 4th minute lead with a long range penalty but Gavin Beasley quickly replied with a penalty of his own to level matters.
Play was typical 'start of season' stuff with the match littered with errors by both sides and the match became very fragmented.
The Blues edged ahead after 17 mintes with a successful drop kick but on 29 minutes Tyne put together a passage of play with James Hoyle crossing for a try after a good break by Charlie Ingall. Beasley converted to give Tyne a 10-6 advantage.
At this stage Tyne should have wrapped the match up but failed on several occasions to take advantage of excellent scoring opportunities.
The Blues narrowed the gap to a single point after 29 minutes with their second successful penalty but it was Tyne who went in at the interval looking the more likely victors.
Tyne failed to add to their score in the opening quarter of the second half and the Blues edged ahead on 59 minutes with their third penalty. This spurred Tyne into action and within 4 minutes Ingall scored following good work by Sep Visser. Beasley converted to give Tyne a 17-12 lead.
The match then took a twist when out of the blue the Blues, who had never threatened the Tyne line previously, put together a good passage of play to score a converted try to give them a 19-17 advantage on 66 minutes.
With time running out things looked ominous for Tyne and when the Blues converted their fourth penalty 3 minutes into stoppage time it looked like "match over".
Tyne, however, showed their spirit and self-belief when in the final play of the match they kept the ball alive before Joe Graham shot over for the vital try with Beasley converting to give Tyne an opening day victory.
All four newcomers, Dominic Shaw, Sep Visser, Alan Rogers and 'man of the match' Andrew Harrison equipped themselves well on their Tynedale debuts.
