Help!
- We are indebted to parents (and players) for their assistance
in the running of our club. Without your hard work Tynedale would
not have a reputation for good hospitality and efficient
organisation. In order to maintain the hospitality that we extend
to visitors and good relations with the senior club staff, please
respond to the duties rota and
assist where you can. THANK YOU.
The running of the Mini/Junior section, involving ten year
groups and over 200 players, is a huge undertaking. All the
committee members and coaches give their time on a voluntary basis
to help develop the rugby skills of young people.
- Volunteers are always welcome - we guarantee to find a role
for everyone who wants to get involved. We particularly would like
to hear from anyone who get involved in coaching - you do not need
to be experienced as official RFU Coaching Courses are available.
Neither do you need to make a long term commitment - you are
welcome to help out whenever you can. If you are interested please
talk to any of our coaches.
-
- Ball Boy Duty for the First XV Saturday home fixtures
is covered by a rota through teams
U9-U13.
Catering, Monitoring and Cleaning duties are covered
every Sunday by those parents who are able and willing to assist.
There is a rota through teams U7-
U16. Monitoring is vitally important to ensure that the
clubhouse and changing rooms/showers are left in good order after
a home session or fixture.
-
- PARENTS - If you see that your age group is rostered
for catering duty, please contact your coach - he needs your
assistance. Rostered age groups should ensure that the kitchen,
clubhouse AND changing rooms are clean and tidy at the end of the
morning.

Coaches (2007/2008)
Code of Conduct
(An important message for all Players, Coaches and Parents -
Please read these guidelines and remind everyone of their importance)
- Players
- A Good player is a self-disciplined person - stay in control
of yourself always.
- Accept the referee's decision and never argue with him.
- Work hard on your own game and learn to cooperate with other
members of your team.
- Respect the opposition and applaud them warmly and genuinely.
- Play for the fun of competing - not just to please others.
Coaches
- Children join Rugby Clubs to play but they must also be taught
the skills of the game to play well. Now, more than ever, their
education is in your hands.
- Be prepared to attend Coaching Award courses.
- Remember that the Laws of the Game mean less than a long
established, accepted spirit in which the game is played and
supported.
- Use gentle progressions to ensure safety.
- Remember that without a referee you cannot have a game so make
him welcome and respect his decisions.
- Condemn any sort of violence or practice against the laws.
- Be positive! Don't criticise. Encourage from the touchline but
don't resort to harassment or unseemly language.
- Please always take the view that the game is played for
enjoyment. Encourage the youngsters to enjoy it themselves by
positive coaching and well-planned sessions and, when competing to
WIN WITH MODESTY AND LOSE WITH DIGNITY.
Parents
- Accept the referee's decision - without him you cannot have a
game.
- Any form of violence or practice against the laws is not to be
encouraged especially by shouts from the touchline.
- Applaud ALL good play - not just your own team's.
- Respect the opposition and all authority figures.
- Remember that youngsters are not there primarily to entertain
you or to meet your expectations.
- Be postitive! Give encouragement not criticism.
- Please remember the game is played for enjoyment. Encourage
the children to enjoy themselves, to win with modesty and lose
with gignity.
- Never use unseemly language.
