Brief History:-
- Founded in 1876
- First match versus
Elswick (now Northern) at Hexham on 30th Dec 1876 (Tynedale won by
a goal and two tries to nil)
- In 1877 six other local
teams merged with Tynedale - Hexham Excelsior, Heart of all England,
Hexham Wanderers, Tynedale Rovers, Parkend Rangers and Hexham
Violets.
- In 1880 Tynedale became
one of the six founder members of the Northumberland Rugby
Union.
- On Whit Monday, May 21st
1894, Tynedale hosted the first ever seven-a-side tournament in
England.
- Moved from Dene Park,
Hexham to present ground in 1976.
- After league rugby began
in 1987 Tynedale remained in Thwaites North Divison Onefor 13
years until they emphatically gained promotion in season
1999-2000, winning all 22 league matches and setting a new league
record.
- Have appeared in 33
Northumberland Senior Cup Finals, winning the cup on 20
occasions.

How to find
us:-
Go to Corbridge, off the A69 - 17 miles west of Newcastle, 40
miles east of Carlisle, 3 miles east of Hexham.
Head for roundabout at south side of bridge over
River Tyne - take turn off signposted Prudhoe(A695). After
approximately 200 metres take road slipping off to the left called
Station Road (signposted "Station"). Go along Station Road for 100
metres- entrance to ground is on the left immediately prior to
station.
