The Tynedale website in its present form has been in existence for almost 12 years now. Although many of us will be sorry to lose the familiarity of the present site, the Management Committee feel that it's time to refresh our online presence with an updated design. We're very keen to maintain the quality of content that we've enjoyed and we're also looking for volunteers to help keep the new site updated and relevant on a 'long-term' basis - more on this later.
With the well publicised cuts in RFU funding casting a shadow over our finances, a primary reason for our decision to re-design the site is to provide the club with an additional revenue stream. Indeed we'll be looking for a small number of sponsors to join us and in return we're offering a very specific and structured package that will provide commercial value. As such we'd be delighted to hear from any businesses or organisations interested in becoming online sponsors.
In relation to the site and it's functionality, we also want to provide a number of 'micro-sites' that will allow each team to promote and publicise themselves in a co-ordinated and constructive manner. We're looking to help coaches and captains communicate with their respective teams and the provision of a messenger/texting service is also likely to be included. The use of social media is becoming increasingly popular, to reflect this we'll be launching a Twitter and Facebook presence which will be integral to the new site and will allow 'up to the minute' news to be uploaded - particularly with regards to team news, match updates, scorers and results etc etc.
The project is being managed by Ian Lewis and myself. We'd welcome any comments and suggestions so please feel free to contact us though the below email address. Similarly, if you'd be interested in our online sponsorship package, we'd be very pleased to hear from you.
