2. Membership (2022-2023)

Club Membership runs yearly from 1st July to 30th June and membership renewal for 2022-2023 is therefore due on 1st July 2022.

Tynedale RFC offers the opportunity of membership or subscription in a simple, equitable and cost-effective way designed to encourage as many individuals as possible to join.

NOTE: Just to complicate matters it should be pointed out that membership on the club's website simply applies to the website and NOT to the Club. (It allows you to see/do certain things on the website).

Why Tynedale membership or subscription?

Tynedale RFC provides a high quality 36-acre facility, including clubhouse & changing facilities, to support the playing and watching of rugby for hundreds of male & female players and supporters of all ages. The cost of providing & maintaining these facilities (excluding capital projects) each year is in the region of £300,000. As a strictly amateur club we do not pay any players and we are fully HMRC compliant.

The majority of the annual revenue needed to enable the club to function comes from sponsorship, events & grounds rentals but membership subscriptions are extremely important and contribute around 15% of total income.
The club no longer receives any financial support from the RFU.

The Management Committee believes that any individuals who use the club facilities on a regular basis should make a contribution through a membership / subscription system.

RFU's Game Management System (GMS)
GMS is the RFU's / England Rugby's central database system through which players (and club members) are registered and can pay their club membership subscriptions. GMS is also used to holds records of registered coaches and referees, record fixtures and results (for the 15-a-side game only) and much, much more.

The RFU requires that every person playing any form of rugby must be affiliated to the club so must be registered on GMS.

Various Tynedale RFC officials utilise GMS to administer membership details and payments but individual members can login to GMS themselves to directly take up/renew membership and make appropriate payments.

Payment by Direct Debit

An option to pay by Direct Debit is available directly via GMS. To help smooth the cost of membership / subscription an option is available on GMS to pay in monthly instalments.

Season 2022-2023 Membership / Subscriptions

• Any individual wishing to play any form of rugby at Tynedale RFC must either pay a membership or a subscription.
• All memberships & subscriptions must be registered on GMS. (actioned either directly by member or by Club Administrator on member's behalf)
