The RFU have decided that from the 2024-2025 season all adult players, in all formats of the game (including Touch Rugby), will be required to register themselves annually to play rugby within RFU member clubs.
This player self-registration process will be actioned totally from within the RFU’s Game Management System (GMS).
The new adult player registration facility was available within GMS from Tuesday 16th July 2024.
SO WHAT'S CHANGED
1. Adult Player registration has up until now been a club-led process, whereby the club registered players on the players' behalf. Robert Macfarlane (Mac) is the Tynedale Adult Male Player Registrar and he has diligently carried out the Male Adult player registration process for many years.
From this season the player will be responsible for instigating the registration/re-registration process on an annual basis.
2. Up until now only players representing the 1stXV in league matches needed to be registered, Now, ALL Adult players must be registered.
THE SELF-REGISTRATION PROCESS (it should only take a couple of minutes)
HOW TO ACCESS GMS
The GMS URL is gms.rfu.com/gms/tynedale
DO YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON GMS?
The majority of adult players at Tynedale will already have a GMS account as an account will have been established when the player was registered in previous seasons. At Tynedale around 150 adult players were registered and will have GMS accounts.

HOW TO LOGIN TO GMS?

If you do not know your account user-id or password then enter your E-Mail address and select "Forgot Password". You should receive an e-mail containing a link to change your password. (please check Spam/Junk folders) You should then be able to log-in using your e-mail address and the new password.
Do NOT select "Create New Account" unless certain you do not already have an account.
HOW TO REGISTER/RE-REGISTER
Once logged in to GMS the actual adult player registration/re-registration process is relatively straightforward.

Once players have registered with their club, a Club Registrar will approve this via GMS and complete any additional processes.
