Clubman of the Week - Sunday 25th October
For the past couple of seasons our Director of Rugby, Peter Southern, and his “committee” have selected a 'Clubman of the Week' from nominations received from players and support staff.
This week winner is PETER SIMPSON

25th October 2026

This weeks award citation from Peter:-

"This week’s winner is one of those people who, every time you go down to the club, seems to be there doing something to help.

Whether it’s helping out around the ground, tidying the changing rooms, collecting and hanging shirts up or taking the laundry, this clubman is always there doing his bit. Cutting the grass, sweeping up outside or working alongside others on whatever needs doing — he will literally turn his hand to anything.

Nothing is too much trouble, and this isn’t just the odd Saturday or a few weeks over the summer. He continues to give his time year after year, quietly getting on with all those jobs that help keep the club running and make it a better place for us all.

It’s easy for that sort of commitment to go unnoticed and for us all to take for granted that these jobs will get done. There’s always another job waiting, and thankfully there are people like this week’s winner who are willing to get stuck in and do it.

Without these characters, we wouldn’t be the club we are. So this week, let’s all give this fantastic clubman the recognition he thoroughly deserves and a huge thank you for everything he continues to do for Tynedale.

This week let’s celebrate this clubman -
