Richard Cramb takes over Chairman of Rugby

Tynedale Rugby Club are delighted to announce that Richard Cramb, the former Scottish International Fly Half, will be taking up the role of Chair of Rugby for the Club from the 30th March 2021.

A classy playmaker on the field, Richard played for (in chronological order) Durham City, Harlequins, Aspen(USA), London Scottish, Wellington College Old Boys (NZ), Newcastle Gosforth and Tynedale.
Richard represented Tynedale for four seasons between 1996 and 2000, playing 95 matches and scoring 294 points (including 18 tries and 24 drop goals). Upon retirement from playing Richard coached throughout the age groups at Tynedale as well as with the Colts.

Mike Fieldhouse, who has held this key role for several seasons, will be reducing his involvement following retirement by joining Chris Lynch as a Co-First XV Team Manager. We wish to place on record our thanks to Mike for his considerable efforts during a difficult period for the Club .

In making the appointment Harry Cornforth, Chief Executive, stated ‘We’re delighted to have Richard join our energetic and forward-looking management team. His experience and rugby knowledge will greatly assist us in meeting our objectives in future seasons. It is a bonus that Mike Fieldhouse is not disappearing from our team as the administration of the First Team and their League involvement will continue to sit with him although Richard will take overall responsibility for all Rugby at the club.’
