League National Two North for 2022-2023

UPDATE (June 27 2022)
The RFU Council has clarified promotion and relegation for the upcoming season in National One and National Two.

The winners of National One will be promoted to the Championship while the bottom three clubs will be relegated to National Two.

The top club in each National Two league (National Two North, East and West) will be promoted to National One with the bottom two clubs in each league relegated.

So for our league (National 2 North) only the top team gets promoted (no play-offs) and the bottom two clubs are relegated.

The RFU have confirmed the teams in the new 2022-2023 league structure.

NEW LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Tynedale's League (National 2 North) continues in the 4th tier of the new league stucture below the Premiership, the Championship and National 1.
There will now be three leagues of 14 teams in tier 4 as opposed to two leagues of 16 teams as previously.
The three leagues will be called NATIONAL 2 NORTH, NATIONAL 2 EAST and NATIONAL 2 WEST.

TEAMS MAKING UP TYNEDALE'S LEAGUE (NATIONAL 2 NORTH)
Tynedale's league for next season looks as highly competitive as ever.
The changes can be summarised as follows:-

  • Hull are promoted from our league as champions.
  • No club has been relegated from our league.
  • No club has been relegated into our league from National 1.
  • Otley, Preston Grasshoppers and Sheffield are promoted into our league,
  • Midlands clubs Bournville, Luctonians, Loughborough Students and Stourbridge have been moved from our league into National 2 West.
