TYNEDALE RFC v HARROGATE RUFC
Saturday 17th October 2026 (KO 3pm)

WELCOME TO TYNEDALE PARK

This Saturday we welcome all the players, officials and supporters from Harrogate RUFC who have returned to our league this season after only one season away.

While the 1stXV take on Harrogate our other teams are all on the road with the Raiders facing a particularly tough match at Medicals who sit in 3rd place below the Raiders who currently head the table after three matches. NOTE :The Centurions now have a home fixture against Alnwick III.

We also, of course, extend a warm welcome to this all this week’s match officials.

To EVERYBODY - Enjoy your day!

HARROGATE RUFC
Their chequered first team record since April 2023 has seen Harrogate relegated with 23 points after winning only five of that season’s 26 matches, promoted in the following 2023-2024 season, relegated again in April 2025 with 52 points, winning only six matches and then winning a promotion play-off at the end of last season to bounce back once again. What a record!

The top of the 2025/26 table for Regional One North East had ended like this:-

Heath went up as champions; Harrogate beat Alnwick 45-35 and were also promoted after defeating Anselmians in the play-off final.

HARROGATE VISITS
This is Harrogate’s seventh League visit to Corbridge. One match which should have been played here, in December 2015, was transferred to Kingston Park, the home of Newcastle Falcons (now Red Bull) because of the effects of Storm Desmond, which had flooded Tynedale Park.

Having lost on their first five trips to Northumberland our visitors reversed that trend in November 2021 when they won 31-38 here at Tynedale Park, and will be hoping for a similar result today. However, in the eight most recent matches played, at home and away, Tyne have won six times and lost only that one time, with one drawn match.

In all League matches Tynedale’s record against Harrogate has been:-
Played 15 Won 10 Drawn 1 Lost 4
Points For 344 Points Against 285

The teams have also played a number of pre-season friendlies, in August 2004, August 2006 and 28th August 2010 at Harrogate and 20th August 2011 at Corbridge. This reinforces the view that the two clubs have had a happy relationship ever since January 1987.

Tynedale first played Harrogate RUFC in January 1987. Tynedale won an untidy game 3-4!!
The match had been moved to a pitch at the Grammar School in Harrogate.

The next meeting was in a league match at Harrogate on the 12th. March 1988 which Harrogate won 24 – 7.

HARROGATE THIS SEASON
Harrogate have marked their return to National League rugby with three impressive victories which have though been interspersed with three heavy defeats, highlighted by last Saturday’s 0-72 defeat at home to free-scoring Darlington MP.
They currently sit in 7th place, one place below Tynedale, with 4 fewer league points than us.
Harrrogate, will no doubt, be desperate to get back on an even keel after last Saturday’s set back and Tynedale will be expecting another challenging match.
