This Saturday, with the 1stXV having a week off, the Raider take centre stage and we welcome all the players, officials and supporters from Peterlee & Horden RFC to Tynedale Park.

We also welcome all those from Jed Thistle who travel over the border to play our Colts while our Hadrians travel to play North Shields Crusaders.

We also, of course, extend a warm welcome to this all this week’s match officials.

To EVERYBODY - Enjoy your day!

Horden is a village on the Durham North Sea Coast. The population is 8,000. The village was once one of the most important coal-producing areas in the country until the colliery closed in 1987.
Peterlee town is 1-2 miles inland from Horden with a much larger population of 23,000 and was built under the New Towns Act of 1946.

PETERLEE & HORDEN RFC
The club was formed in 1925 as Horden RFC and is now based on Eden Lane, Peterlee.
The 1st team played in Durham & Northumberland 1 last season (now North East Counties 1) after having been promoted in April 2024 from Durham & Northumberland 2 as champions. Last season they finished third in the League, behind Sunderland and Novocastrians who were promoted.

The club has three Senior men’s teams and a Ladies side. Mini rugby flourishes from U8 to U18, and the club now also has successful U12s, U14s and U16s girls’ teams.
