The afternoon was a very successful and enjoyable pre-season event with good quality, competitive rugby for lots of players.
Tynedale 1stXV won both of their 40 minute matches against tough opposition so it was a good confidence builder for tghis Saturday's opening league match against Preston Grasshoppers.

This Saturday sees the final match(es) of our Pre-Season schedule when we stage a Round Robin at Tynedale Park – involving Tynedale and our guests Currie Chieftains and University College Dublin.

Currie Chieftains, from the south-west outskirts of Edinburgh, play in the Scottish Premiership and finished runners-up to Hawick last season.
University College Dublin (UCD) play in the All Ireland League Division 1A which is the top league below the four Irish Provinces.

Both clubs are sure to provide stiff opposition for Tynedale as we prepare for our opening league fixture next Saturday when we are at home to Preston Grasshoppers (3pm).

The Round Robin schedule is expected to be:-
2.00pm Tynedale v Currie Chieftains (40minutes)
2.50pm Tynedale v UCD (40 minutes)
3.40pm Currie Chieftains v UCD (40 minutes)
4.20pm – Expected Finish

Tynedale Raiders will also be participating in a Round Robin at Tynedale Park on Saturday with Currie II’s and Northern the other teams.

This Round Robin schedule is:-
1.30pm Tynedale Raiders v Currie II’s (40mins)
2.20pm Tynedale Raiders v Northern (40 mins)
3.10pm Currie II’s v Nprthern (40 mins)
3.50pm – Expected Finish
