Tynedale RFC has always been built on the time, effort and goodwill of its volunteers — and we’re incredibly fortunate to have so many people who care about the club & those who do their bit.
With more rugby than ever, a busy events calendar and exciting plans for the clubhouse and The Venue, we’d love to welcome a few more people to the team behind the scenes.
There’s no expectation to give up every weekend or take on more than you’re comfortable with. Whether you can help at a few home games, spare the occasional weekday morning or would like to gain some practical experience, every bit of support makes a genuine difference.
The role includes:
• Arriving 90 minutes before kick-off.
• Checking which changing rooms are being used.
• Welcoming match officials, assessors and visiting team representatives.
• Showing guests to their changing rooms and offering refreshments.
• Taking drinks to match officials at half-time.
• Helping arrange hospital transport for serious injuries if requested by the medical team.
• Supporting the club president in welcoming visiting officials after the match.
You’ll have plenty of support, and everything will be explained before your first matchday.

Gate Volunteers
We’re also looking to build a friendly team of Gate Volunteers to support our Lead Gate Volunteer at home matches.
Importantly, this isn’t a commitment to attend every home game.
The aim is to create a larger team so matchdays can be shared across the season through a flexible rota. Whether you can help regularly or at just a handful of fixtures, we’d be delighted to have you involved.
You could help with:
• Preparing the gate before supporters arrive.
• Welcoming members, supporters and visiting spectators.
• Checking memberships and processing cash or card admission.
• Helping to keep entry to the ground moving smoothly.
• Assisting with parking directions when volunteer numbers allow.
• Supporting the Lead Gate Volunteer with other straightforward matchday tasks.
It’s a sociable and enjoyable way to meet people, be part of the matchday build-up and support the club without taking on an every-week commitment.

Alongside the introduction of the e-Programme, a stronger content calendar and more promotional videos and imagery, this has helped us significantly increase exposure for rugby, events and everything happening around the club.
With another busy season ahead, we’d love a few more people to join the Promotions & Social Media Team and help us keep that momentum going.
You could get involved with:
• Creating and sharing content from our thriving Mini & Junior section.
• Helping promote club events.
• Supporting the continued growth of The Venue.
• Producing photos, videos, graphics or written content.
You don’t need to be an expert. Guidance and support will be available, and we can shape your involvement around the areas that interest you most.
It could be a brilliant opportunity for a student, aspiring content creator or anyone looking to gain practical experience in marketing, social media or business development — while doing something positive for the club.
Interested? Send us a message through the club’s social media channels and we’ll arrange an informal chat.
This one’s for the Man Fridays, Handy Andys — and Practical Patricias too. It’s particularly well suited to retired members, people with flexible weekdays or anyone who enjoys hands-on work and good company.
Jobs could include:
• Helping the Friday Morning Club prepare for Saturday matchdays.
• Basic groundskeeping and tidying.
• Small repairs and improvements.
• Fencing, minor plumbing and general upkeep.
Each month, a list of jobs will be shared with the team. You can simply pick up anything that suits your skills and availability. There’s no pressure to do everything — just a willingness to lend a hand when you can.
