It’s our second longish coach trip in a fortnight this Saturday as the 1stXV and Raiders head to Humberside to take on Hull Ionians.
Whilst the 1stXV and Raiders travel to Hull we welcome old friends from Holland to Tynedale Park; two Pink Panther teams, their players and officials. We are also pleased to welcome Scottish visitors today with the Selkirk youth team from Scotland playing our Colts.

HULL IONIANS - OLD ADVERSARIES
Tynedale played the Hull club, firstly, as the old Hull and East Riding team for 26 years, and now as Hull Ionians for a further 35 years. With such a long history of excellent matches against Ionian teams we look forward to exciting contests at Brantingham Park on saturday.

The report from Neil Foster, Tynedale’s President said:-
“It wasn’t the game itself which hit the headlines, but the extraordinary efforts Tynedale took to get to Brantingham Park at all, as a heavy snow blanketed the North East on November 23rd, with many roads closed by drifts. However, Tynedale decided they would try their level best to fulfil their fixture on Humberside.
The busy A69 trunk road was reduced to a slippery crawl as the Tynedale coach battled through appalling conditions and the A1 for the journey south was little better. They were doing well until they reached their usual breakfast stop at Scotch Corner - where the coach got stuck in the snow in the car park.
Undeterred, members of the first XV and the Raiders packed down together and shoved the 18-tonne coach on to clear tarmac, and they were able to continue their journey to Humberside.
Ionians could have been forgiven for wishing they had not made it for despite their car park exertions, both Tynedale teams came out on top on the field of play.”
