MACCLESFILE/TYNEDALE SIMILARITIES
Overall, Macclesfield and Tynedale’s similarities are striking:-
MACCLESFIELD V TYNEDALE
In the 33 matches between the two clubs since 1995 Tynedale lead by 19 wins to 13, with one match famously drawn (1996).
’CLICKETY CLICK’ BEATS ‘PICK AND MIX’ (OR ‘HALF A CROWN’)
Last Saturday Tynedale defeated Hull RUFC at Corbridge by 66 points to 26.
On the 11 October 2025, earlier this season, Macclesfield beat the same opponents, Hull RUFC by the same score, 66-26!
This would suggest that the teams will be well matched at Macclesfield this weekend in a high-scoring game. BINGO!
However, Tynedale supporters should be very, very wary. Macclesfield scored their 66 points as the away team v Hull. Furthermore, they scored 66 points once again last Saturday at Scunthorpe. It seems to have become a habit!
THIS SEASON
Macclesfield have made an exciting return to National 2 North and currently sit in fourth place, one places below Tynedale. They certainly know where the try line is being only second in ‘Points For’ to unbeaten league leaders Sheffield. However, whilst their away record is 100% (averaging 56.75 points a game) they have stumbled at home to Fylde and leaders Sheffield.
