Match Report (taken from "The Rugby Paper"):-
Preston Grasshoppers were on the wrong side of a high-scoring encounter with Tynedale.
The hosts got off to a fast start with two penalties from Sam Freeman before Jacob Browne capped off a sensational Grasshoppers try converted by Freeman.
Charlie Richards answered back for the visitors before another freeman penalty restored the lead to nine.
James Telford then scored for Tynedale Sammy Russell and Alex Ward went over to give the hosts a 30-14 lead at the break.
The hosts didnt look like faltering when capitalising on a yellow card for Graeme Dunn and Scott Richardson secured the try bonus point with Freeman getting seven out of seven of his kicks in the game but it was downhill for Hoppers from that point.
Tries for Richards, Oli Walker and Jake Rodgers as well as a penalty try all converted by Cam Grant gave Tyne the lead for the first time in the game.
The momentum had shifted and Tynedale showed their quality in seeing out the game with heavy possession. Grant tried to put the game out of sight for Tynedale but his kick struck the upright, although it didnt matter as the visitors headed home with the win.
