Hull's blistering start was overturned by visitors Tynedale, in a contest which was truly turned on its head.
After a combination of penalties, mistakes and yellow cards Tynedale were allowed to score 21 unanswered points as the script was flipped on a home side who had led 25-7 half an hour in.
In the opening phases a quick pass was spun left to Tom Lineham who made no mistake in surging 25 yards to crash over. Tyne hit back when a deft Jake Rodgers kick to Seamus Hutton saw the winger race in between the posts, Rodgers stepping up to add the extras.
Hull laid claim on the next 25 minutes as Lineham rounded off two further moves on his clinical edge.
Jack Render then ran 50 yards for a thrilling fourth Hull try. Reece Dean added one conversion as well as a 28th minute penalty.
After the Hull onslaught Will Nankivell was teed in by Rodgers to reignite Tyne's fire after Hull's Tipiloma Kivalu was sin binned.
In the second half constant Tyne pressure saw a frustrated Hull concede three tries from Ben Haigh(2) and Charlie Turnbull with Rodgers converting all three.
