Match Report taken from "The Rugby Paper":-
Tynedale ran out very worthy winners in the Battle of the Dales and played some strong rugby.
The visitors finished second in the table and are in the play-offs to decide who makes it to National One next season.
Wharfedale finished in the top half of the league which is a credit to the squad because of a long injury list.
Luck was with Tynedale early on, and two fortunate bounces saw them run in two tries from wingers Seamus Hutton and Will Roberts, Cameron Grant converting the second.
Archie Haddon knocked over a penalty in between to get Dale on the board.
Wharfedale were competing well and had chances to score themselves and eventually Orson Hall broke through the Tynedale defence to touch down for an unconverted try.
The visitors scored again before the interval with a well worked try for James Telford which Grant converted to give them a eleven point lead at half-time.
Tynedale's important bonus-point try was scored early in the second half by Hutton.
Wharfedale kept in touch with a try by Sam Dickinson following up a break by Brad Viner.
Jake Rodgers, Charlie Turnbull and Sam Turnill scored further tries for the visitors before Alfie Weston popped over for a converted try for Wharfedale.

Chris Leslie's Report:-
Wharfedale 20 – 45 Tynedale
The most spectacular journey through Richmondshire, Wensleydale and town hamlets such as Kettlewell, along the River Wharfe, ends at a terrific club on a sunny day, full of Yorkshire grit.
Tynedale won, but it was Wearmouth the farmer from Weardale whose monumental 80 minutes stole the show to secure the vital 5-point win that guaranteed 2nd place and a home play-off.
Tynedale’s performances this season have got better and better, and with that comes confidence. Players such as Beaty, who has now secured the outside centre (13) shirt, have grown, and this showed in the win against proud and difficult opponents.
To single out individuals is perhaps unfair, so The Set, comprising of the units in the pack - front row, second row and back row - are competitive for the full 80 minutes. The combinations at half-back, centre three-quarter and back three are terrific, even when re-arranged to cope with talisman Roberts pulling his hamstring while scoring a brilliant try yesterday.
All this and more, as the Raiders support and underpin the Tynedale squad with material victories, such as against the Wharfedale Forresters, which kicked off earlier and, to a man, led the cheers three minutes before the First Team win.
Next up is Tynedale v Oundle play-off round 1 on May 9th. It will be well supported, so bring some friends to watch Tynedale’s journey, which is becoming even more spectacular than the journey through Wensleydale.
Thanks lads.
