It was the home side who started the second period strongly and quickly extended their lead to 21-5 with their third converted try but Tyne quickly responded with a converted Will Montgomery try to make the score 21-12 after 50 minutes.
A second Montgomery try 7 minutes later narrowed the score to 21-17 but on 62 minutes Lions scored their fourth try to make it 26-17.
The last 15 minutes belonged to Tynedale however with replacement Morgan Passman crossing twice to score two unconverted tries and snatch a 27-26 victory.
It was successful debut for 18 year old Oscar Caudle who took the field 7 minutes into the second half - well done Oscar.
