A point worthy of note is that 14 of the 20-man squad who ran Chester so close came through the Tynedale Youth Section and/or local Tyne valley schools.

This match was tight as the score suggests. It finished with four tries apiece with Chester in front by a single point.
At times the home side seemed about to pull away but Tynedale showed great resilience.
Tynedale scored an early penalty but Chester's wingers replied with a pair of well taken tries - Max Himbury from a cross kick and Harrison Vare from a loose clearance, picking his way through the Tynedale chase from 45 metres out.
A penalty stretched Chester's lead but Tynedale struck back with a pair of converted tries - one from a driven lineout and the other from a charge down drawing level. Both scores showed the visitors' competitiveness and resilience.
A 38th minute penalty put the home side back in front at half time but there remained all to play for.
In the second half Chester scored first when full back Gethin Long timed his run through a gap in the visitors' defence. Immediately Tynedale replied when a precise chip from fly-half Matty Outson was touched down.
After 58 minutes a patient Chester attack seemed to be petering out but the ball was moved wide for full back Long to find a gap and score.
Once more Tynedale replied with a 64th minute try battering through some Chester tackles.
The excellent conversion from Cameron Grant put them within a point and Tynedale seemed to take a grip on proceedings but missed two kickable penalties late on.
