Northumberland U18 Cup Winners for 3rd year

Novos U18's 5 Tynedale U18's 16

The club's under 18 team, composed wholly of players from the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School this year, won the final of the under 18 cup competition when they beat Novos. by 16 - 5 at the County ground on the 17th April 1971.

This was the team's third consecutive win, and the sixth time (once shared) that the Tynedale under 18 team has won the cup in the last nine years.
