COMMUNITY CLUB
Although we have a Senior rugby team which plays at National One level, this club is regarded as very much a Community club.
We make a significant contribution to the local community, not just in sport, but through the numerous other non-sporting activities which also use the facilities at Tynedale Park.

To help to ensure the growth and development of rugby the club finances the employment of Scott Powell,a Community Rugby Coach who, with additional coaching support, works in 39 schools in this area - 3 High Schools, 11 Middle Schools and 25 First Schools. They have structured coaching programmes, they work with youngsters with special needs and disadvantaged groups, and they hold rugby Festivals and extended evening coaching sessions and workshops.

Our mini-junior section provides coaching and matches at Tynedale Park for about 370 boys and girls aged between 7 and 15 years of age, using 70 volunteer coaches and helpers from the local area. We also have 4 adult teams, 2 junior boys teams and 2 teams for girls.

Corbridge Junior Football Club, who have used our pitches and facilities for many years, run 14 teams from under-8's to under-17's and have 30 local coaches to look after 270 youngsters (240 boys and 30 girls).

We have offered the newly-formed Corbridge Tennis Club space to develop their club for adults and children and they will lease part of our grounds for that purpose.

Apart from sports we also host three Car Shows and Rallies, the Northumberland County Agricultural Show, a Traction Rally and Wine and Beer Festivals. We offer the use of our grounds to the local Playgroup - so we cater for a wide range of interests and ages.
Most of these events raise substantial amounts of money to support local charities, like the Charlotte Straker Home in Corbridge, Hexham Priory School, Tynedale Talking Newspaper and Tynedale Hospice at Home, as well as national charities like Help the Heroes, McMillan Nurses, Epilepsy Action, Chin-up a respite home for children, and Minerva, which provides training and opportunities for people with disabilities, Pulmonary Hypertension, North Air Ambulance, Children's Cancer Research, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Percy Hedley Special School, Royal British Legion and Lifespan.

As a Community Club, we believe we provide enjoyment for local people and for the wider community on whom, of course, we rely for support.

SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER

The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of STEVE HULL as Sales & Marketing Officer for Tynedale RFC with immediate effect. Reporting to the management committee, Steve will take responsibility for the development of the key commercial revenue streams of the club (advertising, sponsorship, major events, clubhouse events & gate takings) as well as the overall marketing & communications activities.

Steve joins us having enjoyed a very successful commercial & general management career with businesses such as United Utilities and Northumbrian Water. Steve is married with 2 adult children and lives in Acomb.

GOLF DAY
The inaugural Tynedale Rugby Club ( Beer Festival) golf Day at Bellingham was held on Friday 18th June 2010 . 42 players took part with rugby players past and present ranging in age from 18 to over 70.

The idea came from several people deciding to play golf rather than work on the Friday following the Beer Festival on Thursday night - an idea which rather got out of hand!. The weather and the hospitality at Bellingham were superb and set us up brilliantly for the evening session
The individual champion was Johnny Rutherford second was Pete Beasley and third was Micky Lee

The Team champions (pictured below in their winners shirts) were Simon Clayton - Hibbit, John Fletcher, Johnny Rutherford and Micky Lee.
Nearest the pin at a par 3 was Richie Pender
Longest drive was Mark Fletcher (brother of John)
