'DUGGY' HONOURED
At a meeting of the Northumberland RFU, the Tynedale Chief Executive, Douglas Hamilton, was appointed an Honorary Life Member of the County body.

This is a signal honour which is bestowed only on rare occasions,to individuals who have provided stirling service to the local rugby community. I am sure that all Tynedale members will wish to congratulate Douglas on this recognition.

He joins a distinguished list of only three others, namely Danie Serfontein, Ken Lockerbie and Tony Baker.
Tynedale takes great pride in his preferment

KIRK BARCLAY
Unfortunately the club has lost the services of fitness coach Kirk Barclay due to conflicting commitments with his athletic coaching.

Most of our rugby followers are in no doubt that a large part of the success that the club has had in recent years has been as a direct result of Kirk's expert input. In recent seasons our fitness levels have been noticeably better than most and importantly our players have been conditioned to avoid the muscle injuries with which we had been previously dogged.

Kirk also entered into the club's social scene and he will be a big miss. We hope to see Kirk back at Tynedale Park from time to time where he will always be welcome.
