  • Well Done to the three young lads from our Under 16’s/Colts sections who have been invited to train with the Newcastle Falcons Junior Academy. They will train, and have the occasional match, with boys from schools and clubs across Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland. A wonderful opportunity for Archie Fletcher, Nicko Sykes and Nathan Abrams (pictured above) to develop their rugby skills and widen their rugby experience, mixing with coaches and players from outside their normal areas. Enjoy the experience lads!
  • Congratulations to Rob Farrar who has been promoted from the Newcastle Falcons Senior Academy to their first team squad. Rob made 14 appearances for Tynedale in season 2018-2019 and made his Gallagher Premiership debut for Newcastle Falcons earlier this season at Sale. Well done Rob - well deserved.
  • The easing of lockdown restrictions on Monday 29th March has seen the return to restricted training for all playing sections across the club and attendences have been very good. Lets hope we will have some degree of normality next season.
  • The contractors are progressing well on work renovating the changing room ceilings and lighting. As part of the renovation John Austin is looking for volunteers to paint all the changing room doors. The work will be done under the stand to avoid dodgy weather and workmen – contact John if you have some free time and fancy a bit of therapeutic painting.
  • If all things go to plan pre-season matches have been arranged for the coming season with Billingham and Alnwick providing opposition.
  • Unfortunately this year’s Steam Traction Rally has been cancelled – the event has however been pencilled in for June 11th and 12th 2022.
  • The lifting of some Covid restrictions on April 12th means caravanners can spring back into action and there are numerous Caravan Rallies booked in at the Club throughout the Spring and Summer.
  • Weekly Car Boot Sales at the ground re-commence on Wednesday 14th April.
  • The Club’s tractor has had a breakdown - problem with the front wheel bearings.
  • If there are any fit, strong, young lads out there looking for seasonal or full-time work then our friends Collingwood Marquees are recruiting. See details at foot of this page.

Website Updates
  • Work is ongoing in the development of various 'Club History' and ‘Past Season’ sections within the website 'Information' section. Have a browse around. Anybody with any articles or photographs which could be added send them to Wallace Cousin.
