Tour was awesome

TUESDAY 21ST MAY
BACK IN UK

Flight landed 7.10am
Due back at Tynedale around 1pm

BRANTFORD HARLEQUINS RFC 26 TYNEDALE RFC 42

The lads smashed it from being 14-0 up then 26-14 down!
Exhilarating rugby and what a way to sign off.
What a tour.

Report from Tour Leader Neil Foster:-
"Just to embellish yesterday’s amazing result….
Seamus Hutton set the tone from the off by flattening the Brantford Harlequins full back man and ball. He never quite focused fully on a high kick again all afternoon although he did score and had a hand in some slick play by the opposition three quarters; their strong suit.

We set about an attritional match with intent in every quarter but the forward effort in the 30 degree sunshine was immense.
Ralph Johnson, who carried and tackled as if his next breath depended on it, opened our account to silence the vociferous home support. Following a cheap shot on James Telford an astute kick though by Ryan Scott, to the massive dead ball area allowed, Seamus Hutton to double the lead.

Whilst Tynedale dominated the set piece, a heavy penalty count gave ‘Quins sufficient space to score four unanswered tries, three of which with Tynedale reduced to 14 men.

Water breaks in each half were essential and welcome but Tynedale managed to claw one back with sublime running from Henry Hadfield and then immediately after the break Tynedale continued to be punished by the whistle.

The final quarter was the stuff of legend. Tynedale rose to the challenging conditions pulling one back through Chris Wearmouth and then another from Seamus Hutton, a deserved man of the match.

On the stroke of time Joe Hanning bullocked through the 22 to within a yard of the line and quick hands put Ryan Scott through for a sixth and final score.

Jake Rodgers, by the end heavily strapped from an earlier head wound, converted all the extras from the tee.

Needless to say a party followed with the Quins clubhouse eventually running out of beer!
Back at the airport now and homeward bound."

"It's a Test Match!"
Brantford Harlequins are Ontario's undisputed champion club.
They have won the Marshall League in 4 of the last 6 years.
Safe to say today will be a brutal game.
Good Luck to all the selected squad.

TUESDAY 14TH MAY 2024 - DAY 5

Outside our "Hotel" in Ottawa

Gary, a friend of Tim Tatman, turns up.

Barrhaven Scottish 12 v Tynedale 50
A fantastic, hard fought game with Tynedale 50-12 victors.

SUNDAY 12TH MAY 2024 - DAY 3

CRUSADERS RUGBY CLUB 12 TYNEDALE RFC 38 (KO 7pm UK Time)
Tynedale RFC had a fantastic day with a hard fought game against the @oakvillecrusadersrugby.
Tynedale played the Crusaders 38 years ago which resulted in a 22-0 defeat, so was brilliant to level the scores yesterday. We look forward to a returning the excellent hospitality with a fixture at Tynedale Park. Man of the match was given to Joe Lilley who was kindly presented with a match shirt.
One of the highlights was that we had a 61-year-old and a 62-year-old on the bench, and both came on for good chunks of the second half. Well done the pair of you, fit as fiddles and one of you just sits on a tractor all day!!
