Congratulations and best wishes to Ex-Tynedale hooker George McGuigan who has been selected for the England training squad ahead of the upcoming Autumn Nation Series.
Newcastle Falcons hooker George(29), who has yet to be capped for his country, was the league’s second highest try scorer last year and has scored five tries in six games this season.
Eddie Jones’ England squad will prepare for the Autumn Nations Series with a training camp held in Jersey from October 24 to October 28 before going into a tough November, playing four matches against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa. Their first match is against Argentina on Sunday 6th November.
GOOD LUCK GEORGE - you certainly deserve it!
Should George get a richly deserved cap he will become the third ex-Tynedale hooker to make their senior international debuts in the past 3 seasons – quite a remarkable record.
George, along with Dave Cherry and Jamie Blamire all began their senior rugby playing careers at Tynedale.
