LATEST - Gemma promoted into senior Scotland squad
Following Gemma's impressive performances in the U20 series she has been selected in an extended Scotland Senior training squad who will attend a 4-week training camp ahead of matches against Wales and Fiji in two Autumn Tests before heading to Cape Town in September for WXV 2.
Gemma is one of five uncapped players in the 35-player senior squad, which comprises 19 forwards and 16 backs, who will convene in camp on Monday 29 July for four weeks, before a squad of 30 is selected for the upcoming international fixtures.
Gemma will be joined in the squad by ex-Tynedale Panther Caity Mattinson who will be playing for Ealining Trailfinders in the coming season.
WELL DONE Gemma - ENJOY!
Huge congratulations to former Panther Gemma Bell who was named Scotland's Most Valuable Player in last week’s Six Nations Summer Series held in Italy.
Hardly surprising with Gemma’s high energy performances, aggressive tackling and strong ball carrying being an outstanding feature in Scotland’s three matches.
The award winners were voted for by their teammates, after a shortlist of three players per side was identified based on performances across the Series.
