Match Report - Tim Tatman
Our spectacular return to winning ways was greatly overshadowed by the injury to Jake Rodgers. The lengthy on-field attention, stretcher and ambulance did not look good but. with much relief, I am very pleased to quote the following that I received this morning:-
Message from Jake’s mom;
Jake sustained a bad knock to the back of the head from a player’s knee. It knocked him out cold. There was concern when he woke up that he did not know what had happened or where he was but we are pleased to say by the time he reached the clubhouse he was back to his normal self eager to know the match score. The hospital have given him the all clear. He needs to follow normal head injury protocol but he is already itching to get back on the pitch.
Jake and his parents are extremely grateful for the outstanding care Jake received from the physios and ambulance crew. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff, supporters and Jake’s team mates for all their support in what was a great performance on the day from the team.
Fylde scored one of the fastest tries of the season when their full back caught the kick-off and ran it straight back easily skipping past two tackles. Oh dear. I thought, an indication of things to come? Absolutely not. For the next few minutes all the play was in Fylde's half with our pack beginning to show their strength, a forward drive giving David Batey the touch down: 7-7. A penalty for a high tackle put Fylde back in the lead at 7-10 on 13 minutes. The remainder of the half saw good running with both teams showing an ability to penetrate defences but it was only Tynedale that could turn this into points with tries by Will Miller, Jake Rodgers (2), Morgan Passman and Jonny Burden. Our pack were performing well in the scrums and lineouts giving us the majority of possession and territory.
We were in a dominant 33-10 lead at half time and racked up another 4 tries to Fylde's 1 in the second half. Notable were a neat grubber kick by Rob Parker towards the end of the first half to give Jonny Burden and strong breaks by Morgan Passman. Although Fylde threatened from time to time, they were outplayed all around the pitch
Two of our recent stars returned to Tynedale Park, Will Miller for us with an excellent Star Man performance, and Henry Hadfield for Fylde and a yellow! Henry never received a pass in circumstances that allowed him to show his scoring ability that we know so well and was perhaps unlucky to be pinged for a tip tackle.

The Rugby Paper Report - Brian Tilley
At the fifth time of asking Tynedale got their first win of the season with a nine-try demolition of Fylde. But their joy was tempered by concern for fly-half Jake Rodgers who was carried off after being knocked out an hour into the game.
Tynedale made the worst possible start when Fylde full-back Tom Carleton gathered the opening drop out and ran through to score a superb individual try, converted by fly-half Greg Smith. Tynedale came back strongly with hooker David Batey getting the touchdown to a line-out catch and drive, with Rodgers converting. A Smith penalty put Fylde back in front on 13 minutes but a converted tries by Will Miller and Rodgers were followed by another from right-wing Morgan Passman to secure the bonus point on 38 minutes. Centre Jonny Burden got the fifth in added time to give Tynedale a 33-10 interval lead.
Passman grabbed his second early in the second half before Fylde came back with a try through winger Tom Grimes. Then came Rodgers' injury which halted play for 16 minutes before Tynedale cut loose with a hat-trick of tries for left wing Guy Pike, all converted by full back Rob Parker.
