Report taken from "The Rugby Paper":-
Charlie Richards' hat-trick of tries propelled battling Tynedale to their first win of the campaign in a bottom-of-the-table clash at Sheffield Tigers.
Going in with a well-deserved 7-17 lead at the break, the visitors had to withstand a second-half onslaught from the hosts, and tries from Rhys Beeckmans and Richards in reply proved just enough.
The home side got off to a flyer through full-back Will Baker, in space wide on the left.
The visitors hit back. A well judged kick from Cameron Grant found Will Roberts who crossed in the corner.
Growing in confidence, Dale then took the lead. An inside pass enabled Richards to join the line for his first try, converted by Grant.
Now dominating, the visitors crossed again via Richards, dotting down a pushover try with the last play of the half.
Tigers came out strongly after the restart but were undone by Beeckmans, who ghosted through the Sheffield ranks to push the lead to 7-22.
The hosts responded with tries from James Norman and Jamie Broadley but Richards got his third as the visitors refused to capitulate. This proved decisive as the hosts hit back through Josh Redfern for a final 24-29 score.
