Report taken from "The Rugby Paper":-
Two tries from leading scorer Will Roberts helped Tynedale claim maximum points at a windswept Corbridge in which both sides put on an entertaining display despite the poor conditions.
The Grasshoppers had the benefit of the remnants of Storm Eowyn in the first half and they led 15-10 at the break, but the lead never looked enough as they turned to play into the wind.
Greg Smith opened their account with a second minute penalty but Tynedale struck back with an excellent score from Joe Tully following a good handling move, before good work by Joe Hanning set up Roberts for his first try.
A couple of missed tackles allowed Tyler Spence to narrow the gap with a try for Preston, converted by Smith, before a lineout catch and drive was rounded off by Harry Holden to give the Hoppers a 15-10 interval lead.
Smith extended the lead in the second half with his second penalty on 42 minutes, but Tynedale narrowed the lead to a single point after Harrison Wood marked his debut with a try, following a good lineout catch and drive move. Tom Mann landed the conversion.
Roberts' second try sealed the contest for the hosts. Some slick juggling followed by a neat side step saw him race in, before a late penalty by Jake Rodgers wrapped things up for Tynedale.
