A depleted Raiders squad made the journey to Grassington knowing a tough day at the office was ahead.

Wharfedale were on top in the early advances and looked extremely dangerous any time their left wing or full back had ball in hand and quickly built up a 14 point lead.

This said Raiders grew into the game, reaching some parity in the scrums and talismanic captain Finlay Magowan stealing lineout ball at will as well as leading a pack resurgence along with Dicky Dunn, Charlie Richards and debutant Rob Earnshaw.

Raiders only score on a difficult day was a well executed drop goal and the half time whistle came with the score at 21 - 3 to Wharfedale giving Tyne a glimmer of hope going into the second 40.

Unfortunately a well drilled Wharf outfit had other ideas and continued their dominant display racking up a final score of 57 - 3.

A day to forget in the Dale's but it must be said the Raiders fought till the final whistle and a notable mention must be made to Sam Harrison making his senior debut for Tyne.
