1st XV
At the time this was said to be the best season within living memory for the first fifteen and arguably the best ever.

1st XV played 30; Won 26; Drawn 1; Lost 2; 748 - 311 points (One game abandoned)

The 1st XV beat Lichfield and Wakefield in the Pilkington Cup before losing, away, to London Scottish.

The only other loss was at Rotherham, in the League, which proved critical as Rotherham maintained a 100% record to clinch the one promotion spot.

The 1st XV also beat Newcastle Gosforth in the semi-final of the Northumberland Cup, and Novos in the final (15 - 3). The team also won the Whitbread Rugby World & Post "Team of the Month" award in November 1991.

Tynedale also won the Northumberland County 7-a-side tournament for the first time since the inaugural 7's in 1930.

6 players represented Northumberland and 7 others played for Northumberland B.

David Thornton led the coaching team.
